1997 Dodge Ram 3500

1997 Ram 3500 with a 12v cummins diesel and 5-speed manual. I bought this with the intention of restoring it back to perfect condition. I looked for a long time to find a clean low mileage 12v with a 5-speed. If you are reading this you know they don't come around often. I started by doing the killer dowel pin fix which is a must on these engines. The original owner had already had the 5th gear problem repaired before I bought it. These are the only problems with these trucks that I am aware of so we got those out of the way. The dash of course was cracked as they all are by now. It was replaced with a new piece from mopar ( not a cover). I had performance in mind so the factory clutch was upgraded to a south bend clutch that still drives like stock but can hold the extra power . I added 3 guage pillar with egt, oost, nd fuel pressure gauges to keep an eye on everything. Next was a AFE intake and 4inch MBRP exhaust with muffler. I have almost completely gone through the suspension with a Bell Tech 3-4 drop with new springs and shocks up front and shackles and hangers out back with new shocks there as well. The lowering kit can easily be replaced with stock parts that are readily avalible if the new owner so choses.I also added complete new upper and lower control arms with new bushings and ball joints. Everything was aligned and drives great. new wheels consist on American Force 19.5 direct bolt ons and 225-70-19.5 tires all around. Truck has been painted before I got it and looks to be a few years old with no big scratches or damage. The tail gate was an ebay purchase and doesn't match perfect but close. tailgate was missing when I bought the truck. Engine runs perfec, rans shifts grea, nd it get 20+ mpg thanks to factory 3.55 gears. This is a clean old dodge that hasn't been turned up or highly modified. Just a few tasteful mods that make the truck better.
