This is a dually truck deal that does not come along often any more. As you see in the description, e have a Onyx Black 1996 Silverado C3500 with a sequential-fuel-injected 454 in front of a 4L80E Transmission that drives a 4.10 geared rear differential. Although, he truck has 177,000 miles on the odometer it has been meticulously maintained as it was used mainly to pull a 35' foot RV Trailer for vacationing.
Less than 3,000 miles ago (which was 3 and a half years ago since onlya fewRV vacations were taken since), here was $6,000 spent to refurbish the truck to like-new condition mechanically so that it wouldsurpass the 300,000 mile mark and pull the camper for many more vacations. The reason that the truck is being sold is because a motorhome came into the picture that could not be resisted.
The refurbwork included full servicing of the engine, ransmission, nd rear differential as well as flushing of the coolant, rake fluid, nd power steering (hydro-boost) fluids with the best conventional fluids available. All filters (air, uel, ir, nd transmission) were replaced with Wix Gold filters. We also replaced the valve cover gaskets, CV valve, erpentine belt & tensioner, hermostat, adiator, nd radiator hoses. Next came the suspension work which includedreplacing all of theball joints and the complete steering linkage (Center Link, itman Arm, dler Arm & Bracket, nd Inner & Outer Tie Rod Ends with new Adjuster Sleeves). The sway bar frame bushings and end-links were also replaced. The shock absorbers were replaced with high quality Napa Grande Fleet shocks all around. The brake system service included new Napa Ultra Premium Severe-Duty front pads and rear shoes, apa Premiumremanufactured front calipers, nd new rear wheel cylinders. The front wheel seals and the rear axles seals were replaced when the bearings were checked, ound good, and repacked. The rear axle flange gaskets were also replaced. The air conditioning system was addressed as it had a leaky compressor. The entire refrigeration system was dismantled, lushed with a high-grade flushing agent, e-o-ringed, nd reassembled with a new compressor, eceiver/drier, rifice tube, ow pressure cycling switch, ow-side port valve, igh-side port fitting, the correct amount of fresh PAG 150 oil, nd charged with refrigeration by weight to produce 18 degree Fahrenheit air from the center vent at 80 degrees ambient temperature. We also replaced the cab marker lights with high-quality pieces and resealed the high-stop light.
As mentioned above in several places, nly the best quality and materials were used in the service of this vehicle. All of the part were purchased from Napa Auto Parts, nd only their top-of-the line pieces were used. The work was performed correctly with a high level of attention to detail so that best, ong-lasting results would be realized. The product of all of the above is a truck that performs like it is new and will do so for many more years. This truck was not abused or over-used. The majority of the parts that were replaced were due for replacement, ut not in terrible shape due to the care and attention of the owner to proper maintenance. After the work was completed, ll of the tires were replaced with Mesa A/P2 M+S 225/75/16 Load Range E tires, nd an alignment was performed which took the cost ofthe project to over $6000.The tires are still like new and the truck tracks and drives like a new one. Recently, oth batteries were replaced along with all of the front light lenses, indshield wiper blades, nd a HVAC mode control actuator which controls "where" the HVAC blows from. We also buffed the truck well and applied new pin-striping. The paint is doing well for its' age and can go for many more years with proper care. The body is in great shape, ut not perfect. There are door dings here and there, nd the hood has some deformation in the rear corners from having flown up once at low speed.
The truck also does well in comparison of creature features (to gasoline tow vehicles of present) due to the fact that it is a fully loaded model of its' day. There are pictures of the original window stickers that list those details. You'll notice that the truck came with a grayfabric interior. Best-quality leather seating and door panel insertcovers were installed over the fabric to make this a leather-interiored model. So, here is fabric under the leather if a fabric interior is preferred. There is even a cowboy hat holder on the rear ceiling because the first owner (dealership owner) used it to pull a horse trailer to shows for the first 20,000 miles of its' life before it went into camper duty.
Saving some neat towing features for last, he truck is equipped with a Reese 15K fifth wheel hitch, gooseneck hitch mount, nd a triple-ball tag receiver hitch. There is a 7-blade wiring receptacle in the bed and a 6-pin wiring receptacle at the receiver. There is also a single lidded locking Kobalt aluminum diamond-plate tool/storage box in the bed, tainless Putco full-length bed rails, nd a metal camper top that comes with the truck.
Although this truck is now right at twenty years old, ts' condition and looks defy its' age. Many people consider this era Silverado the best package as far as looks, erformance, nd cost. With all of its' features and reliability, t is a greatfind in a tow vehicle for less than a fifth of the costof a new one. Now that the full history and value of this vehicle is known, qualified decision can be made on this quality vehicle. This is an As-Is Sale. No Warranties are expressed or implied. The buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup or shipping. Happy Bidding!!!
