Going to try one more time to give this truck a new home before I part it out. I built this truck a couple of years ago. It was driven for about a year… but my priorities in life changed and its been sitting in the driveway ever since.
Like all projects it needs a few things to finish it to my satisfaction. I’ve done a little here and there as work and life allowed. I had planned on getting back on it when I had a chance. A while back I decided it was time to finish it up so I started ordering the parts I needed. One Saturday morning I went out planning to start working on it. I looked at it, ooked over at the tubed, uilt, nd finished 4Runner sitting beside it, hought about the Samauri that I have most of the parts to build but haven’t started, nd decided it was time to sell all of it. I haven’t actually gone wheeling since I sold my buggy in ’09. I have no interest in finishing this and I never will. I would rather pass it on to someone else that can enjoy it while its still in good shape. And my girlfriend and I could use the cash for our AT thru-hike fund. I’ve tried to list everything as best I remember, ut I’ve spent so much money on this truck and done so much I know there is stuff I’m forgetting.
It fires up and runs good. As far as I know there are no issues that need to be repaired. But it is a vehicle that hasn't been driven or used recently, o some things might show up. Every month or two I’ve started it and driven it around the yard to keep things freed up. It has the normal random drips that are to be expected on a vehicle like this.As I’ve found stuff that needed repair I’ve done it to try and keep the truck from going down hill. I do know the rotors are rusted and would probably change the brake pads very shortly just to be safe. The a/c works but has a bad leak under the dash so it will not hold a charge more than a few hours. I was planning on replacing the front springs with Rancho rs44044 springs. Knowing I was going to have to get longer shocks I took the ones off this truck and used them on another project. So you will need to get front shocks. The body is in good shape. No dents that I see. I painted it when I built it, ut sitting in the Georgia sun has not been kind to the clearcoat. This last summer the top surfaces have started to delaminate.
When I put the engine in I swapped out the entire wiring harness from the donor truck. I put all the Tacoma gauges, ash, teering column, eats, nd seat belts. If you wanted to you could even hook up the airbags. The truck has power windows. The wiring is there for power locks but they are not currently hooked up.
The cage is made out of 1 ½” .120 wall.It is removable and powder coated.
Like any project I learned a lot while building it. There is some stuff that I could do better now and a few things I would do differently. But there is absolutely nothing on this truck that I would be embarrassed to admit was my work. It’s clean and not hacked.
This is a no reserve auction. So you bid and its yours. I would recommend that this be trailered home until you get a chance to check it over to be safe. But I don't know of any reason you couldn't put front shocks on it and drive it. I've dropped the price from when I had it listed previously. I don't really have the time to part it. If your looking you've most likely worked on a few rigs and know what the parts cost. So you know my starting bid is about what you would pay for just the engine/trans and the wheels/tires.
