Description

2 - 1971 Volkswagon Karmann Ghia Convertibles.
No Reserve Auction! These cars will be sold.
This car is in really good shape with LOTS of parts and spare parts.. Many of the parts are brand new in boxes/bags.Former Owner past away without being able to complete it, o I am selling them for the family.
They have been sitting for quite a while but we have gotten them cleaned up. Typically these cars need new floor pans, ut the primary car (originally orange) floors are is great shape. We have replaced the bottom quarter panel on the driver side and roughed in the bodywork. We have the car in PPG Primer/Sealer ready to be finished and painted.
The Motor spins freely and we are going to work on getting it running during the auction. >> If the car starts and runs, hich I expect it will > I will add addition comments indicating so. The car does have 2 ignition keys.>>> We Got the Motor Started. It needed a fuel pump. So now it starts and runs <<<
Front Trunk is also in very good shape. There is a little rust in the very bottom under where the spare tire sits but it is in an open area and easy to repair if you wish.
The other area of rust is on the Rear Hood (motor cover-pictured) along the bottom edge - also fairly easy to repair. (or replace)
Lights and Chrome all appear to be there with extras. Emblems are brand new and wiring appears to be in good shape.
Door panels are there but are not in good shape. I think they could be repaired if you are patient, ut it would probably be easier to get replacements. Driver seat was left in the car so the vinyl material is brittle. The Passenger seat was removed and stored inside and appears to be in good shape. I think the rear seat belongs to the car but have not tried to fit it.
Windshield is good and there is a brand new rubber for it with Brand new Chrome. The old chrome is also still in good shape if you wanted to keep it with the parts car to resell it later.
The Rear Glass is in good shape and has the defogger.
There are 4 door glasses so you can pick the best and left the rest with the parts car.
The Tires(on the orange car) are in good shape and the chrome wheel covers are in good shape also. The tires on the parts car are in poor shape but may hold air long enough to load and unload.
Both bumpers are complete and whole, lus there are some extra bumper parts and a complete rear bumper in case you need them.
Door latches work great including the locks.
As you can see in the photos - there is a LOT of parts and chrome that come with these cars, f you have ever bought parts and pieces > you can see there is probably $1500+ right there! So completing it should be easy.
There are 2 complete convertible tops (Black and White). I haven't completely unfolded them to see what condition the materials are in but the mechanism seems solid. The White top appears to be in better conditions than the black. The yellow car has a convertible frame that is mostly complete. I haven't attempted to fold it.>>> We mounted the White Top and are working on stretching out the material<<<

In the assorted parts were all kinds of Rubber parts for door seals or top seals...Convertible top, ood and/or motor cover seals. Plus motor parts, uch as Carb kit... Valve cover gaskets and many other parts still in the packages. New Chrome Emblems. Also we found the original owners manual and maintenance log. The original Jack and lug wrench is whole works perfectly and is in the trunk.
If I spent a few weeks finishing it up, t would be a Very nice driver!!Take advantage of this deal and have the satisfaction of having a hand in building your next cruiser! Take a look at how these cars are appreciating in value... This would be a fantastic investment! The kind of investment can you cruise around town on a Saturday night and enjoy life!
