Description

1998 M3 sedan in Estoril Blue with 5-speed. I am the 3rd owner (purchased May 2012). All adult owned. Completely stock and never modded. Detailed and extensive maintenance history tracked in a Google spreadsheet, vailable on request. I have never tracked the car. All VIN stickers match. No major accidents. I bought this car with the intent of keeping it forever (it is my second e36 M3/4 and I love them) and eventually turning it into a track car. As such, kept it in good mechanical condition but deferred some aesthetic/non-functional maintenance like seats, illar covers, tc (see below for more detail). But it has become evident that HPDEs are not a regular part of my future as I have 3 kids under the age of 6. Time for a new car, o it's with sadness I let this one go. I recently had the car inspected by a local indie BMW shop and have listed below some routine maintenance that should be done. The car runs great and is mechanically sound. Everything below is routine. You enthusiasts are particular about some of these things like brakes & rotors, nderbody, tc., o I figure I'll give you the option to do it to your specs and probably save money vs me doing it for you. Plus some of you may want to turn this into a track car, o here's a chance to get a well-maintained, elatively low mileage M3 for a good price. DIY needs for the handy folk: - New brakes and rotors front and rear - Driver window motor and regulator needs replacement - Replace spark plugs and valve cover gasket - Replace power steering supply & return hose - New weather seal on driver door - New front passenger and rear driver pillar trim - Standard fluid flushes for rear diff, ransmission, rakes - Replace drivers seat belt latch & passenger seat occupancy mat (SRS light is on) - Replace the underpanel. I have BMW part numbers for all the above that I can provide if you'd like to research part cost and DIY effort. Not-so-DIY: - Back bumper and roof needs new clear coat (see photo) - Driver front quarterpanel has a good size scratch from my son's big wheel (see photo) - Leather seats have worn and torn, eed to be reupholstered. (see photo) The back bench started with small tears on the seams. They have gotten worse over time as people occasionally sit back there. The driver seat just recently began to do the same. Passenger headrest is also headed that way. (See photos) Obviously interested in full disclosure, o feel free to reach out with additional questions. It's a beautiful, ard-pulling, ell-running car. Fully supportive of buyers conducting their own PPI and will work to ship if buyer is not local.
