OEM WHEELS POWDER COATED BLACK Porsche® Carrera® GT Fast Facts a 605-horsepower naturally aspirated V-10 engine and based on a racecar-type chassis, he mid-engine Porsche® Carrera® GT is a prototype for a supercar that could possibly go into limited production by 2003. In both design and construction, he Carrera GT roadster is based on pure racing technology.
The design draws on classic Porsche racecars for inspiration, specially the 718 RS® Spyder of the early 1960s.
The all-new normally aspirated V-10 engine, ix-speed manual transmission with racing-type clutch and the suspension and brakes owe little to current Porsche road cars.
The body, ade mainly from carbon fiber, nsures high rigidity, assenger safety and low weight.
The V-10 engine displaces 5.5 liters and produces 605 horsepower (410 kW) and 442 lb.-ft. (600 Nm) of peak torque, ufficient to propel the 2,755-lb (1,250 kg) Carrera GT from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than four seconds, -125 mph (0-200 km/h) in under 10 seconds and to a top track speed of over 205 mph (330 km/h).
A dry-sump oil system ensures reliable and consistent oil supply and pressure at high engine speeds and during extreme cornering forces.
The ground effect body design literally pulls the car to the road at high speeds for stability and safety, nd the rear wing extends at speeds over 75 mph (120 km/h) to generate stabilizing rear downforce.
Aluminum and leather dominate the interior, nd the few concessions to “luxury” include air conditioning, stereo system and power windows (which weigh no more than manual windows).
The racing-type seats do without power adjusters to save weight. Unique adjustable knee and leg supports hold the driver and passenger firmly in position.
The instrument panel uses a color TFT screen to display three levels of information, epending on the driver’s needs.
