Description

My step daughter had a boyfriend who needed a car. She co-signed because his credit was bad. He found another girlfriend and skipped town. We finally tracked him down. In the meantime, e blew a radiator hose and drove it until it seized. He had no problem with the repossession and skipped town again. We were stuck with a car with a $6800 pay off and a blown engine. I found a used engine with only 45000 miles on it and installed it. It started right up and runs perfectly. We've driven it 2000 miles with no problems. It gets around 30 MPG on the highway if you don't put your foot in it but will get up and move if you do. The car is not perfect by any means and I will tell you the problems that I know of so that there are no surprises. First is that the air conditioning isn't working. I might have lost the charge during the engine swap or it's something else. Next is that the cruise control is out. Not a big deal for us as it was an in town car. There are areas of wear and abuse in the interior that are shown in the pictures. The right front corner is scratched up where he misjudged and lastly is the roof that was damaged when he locked himself out and mangled the paint getting in . Luckily, t's not noticeable when the door's shut. The gauge cover has a crack, he console has some damage and the rug has a stain. The brakes were recently done. New struts last year. New drive axles,1 front hub. New lower ball joints & tie rod ends. Tires are reasonably good. So there you have it. I'm not a large car guy or a GM guy but I will say that I'm fairly impressed. It's a nice highway cruiser that won't wear you out on a long ride. The engine fires right up and runs like a clock every time. With only 6500 miles on it, t should last a very long time. I'll be taking a bath on this project (the engine wasn't cheap) but it is what it is. I hope you will find that it meets your needs.
