This Corvette is "Numbers Matching" meaning that the engine that is in the car now is the same one that was installed in the car new at the factory. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured below.

We purchased this Corvette from a couple who said they they were the second owners. They also said that the car originally came from TX, hich would be very beneficial as vehicles from western and southern states are not subject to harsh winters or salty environments so they are usually cleaner. The previous owners also stated that the engine had been rebuilt. There is evidence of this on the engine block itself. There are machine marks on the engine pad where the block was decked. Luckily when the engine was rebuilt and this machining was performed a portion of the original VIN stamping remained and is pictured below.
