This is 1953 Dodge Job Rated Panel Truck. There is only one on earth like this one! I have the history on it too. It was used up until 1965 by the Mullis Poultry Co. In Jacksonville Florida, hen parked in a garage for many years.
Not long ago it was upgraded and channeled over a Chevy s10 long bed pickup with the 4.3 V6, erfect fit! It has power steering, ower brakes, isk in front, rum in the back, nd tilt wheel. It has a new aluminum radiator that keeps it running nice and cool. The rims are 18" Riddler, nd the low profile tires are very good, bout 80%. The s10 drive train and suspension is unaltered, ccept for the upgrades I made.
I installed new spring assist shocks up front, nd a 7/8" sway bar in the rear by SDTrucksprings.com. It has the original s10 sway bar in the front. Corners very well now. It has new front, nd rear glass, nd rubber, ne new wind wing glass. I left the rest if the original glass that looks cool with the fog and discoloration. I have a key that will lock both the passenger side door and the rear doors. The driver door locks from inside. That’s the way they did it in 1953.
Other upgrades include an electric windshield wiper, nd new heater. It does not have A/C, ut it would not be difficult to put back the original s10 A/C equipment. I also installed a vintage exterior visor, ew upholstery with alligator accent on the bench seat and door panels. New black carpet was installed all the way to the back. It has a working original dome light, ow led. Correct vintage driver side interior sun visor, lso done in alligator skin. Dash mounted traffic viewer, agnet.
It has a GPS digital speedometer and water temp on the dash. The s10 gauges are mounted in the glove box, o it has a complete set of gauges that all work! It has working turn signals that shut off when you finish the turn.
I have also installed a new Kenwood stereo, ith two 5 1/4" speakers mounted in the front of the dash, wo 6 ½" speakers in the rear with a 12" duel cone subwoofer, nd a 600 watt Kenwood mini amplifier. Sounds unbelievable. The panel has an echo inside that makes it sound even better!
It has duel exhaust with glass packs installed. Sounds even better than I expected. Really sounds off when you wind it out! Chrome tips out the back. I also installed a vintage 24" Grover air horn off a big rig with onboard compressor that is hidden inside an original Budweiser beer crate.
The horn is mounted underneath out of site in the back. The compressor operates with a push pull switch mounted on the dash with a led light. Just takes a couple minutes to air up then its good for more honks than you will need for the ride! Also just changed the oil and filter, nd serviced the transmission.
This is an awesome truck, o be ready to talk to people whenever you drive it, ecause someone always has a comment or question.
