1958 chevrolet shortbox fleetside v8 GMC pickup 2006 crown vic suspension

1958 GMC 1/2 ton shortbox fleetside, riginal V8 truck, hese trucks came with a 336 cubic inch pontiac engine, t was shot, had a 389 from a 1959 catalina, hats in it now.With a packard electronic distributor, ith the factory 3 speed on the column. Aluminum Radiator, ll new hoses and belts, hrome 1 wire alternator, Updated front suspension with a 2006 ford crown vic suspension. I narrowed the front crossmember 4 inchs to fit the truck. It is fitted with a manual steering rack. Rear end and springs are out of a 2003 ford ranger, 23 gear. Air shocks. Manual brakes with updated dual master cylinder. This truck drives down the road like a new car. I have driven this truck 6000 miles since I built it. I have been building rods for 30 years. All lights are new, aillights and park lamps updated to 3157 style bulbs and sockets,heater work, ore replaced with late model aluminum heater core. heater dash control with levers included but not installed, eeds heater cables and knobs. All gauges rebuilt and working except speedometer failed, robably simple problem, ust been getting along without it. Simple am fm reciever bluetooth and aux compatible. Electric wipers work great. New 17 inch aluminum torque thrust 2 wheels and tires. This thing has lots of torque and cruises freeway speeds like a dream. I did not rebuild the engine it was out of a project I had left over, did a valve job and installed it. It had 75000 miles on it when I installed it. Its running good but probably should be gone through, r changed out. The 3 speed trans works good but my ultimate plan was a nv 4500 5 speed overdrive trans.Body does have some rust in the cab corners, ot bad. Paint on roof was stripped years ago. box has metal floor welded in.
