1969 Chevelle SS 396 Convertible 4 speed L78
You are viewing a beautiful body of frame fully restored Chevelle SS396 L78. The car is undocumented. The build started in 2005 and finished in 2007 with less than 2K miles on the car since finished. The odometer shows 86K miles. Runs and drives excellent. Vin number 136679B379213. Approximately 180 L78 69 Chevelle 4 speed convertibles were built.

Body/Paint: The body needed work due to rust issues that were fully addressed. Fenders, uarter, loor, oors and trunk pans were replaced. Many hours in fitment to get the body dialed in. Many coats of primer with blocking. Fit and finish was a high priority and it shows. The original color of the car is Garnet Red. It was decided to paint the car Monaco Orange with black striping. Multiple coats of paint with multiple coats of clear was used. Fully wet sanded buffed and polished. Shows very well.
Power Top: Frame was fully restored and shows with convertible cloth used instead of vinyl as original. The top fits and looks very nice. New back window.
Interior: The restored interior is all original black and shows excellent. Full gauge package with tach. Power steering and brakes. Original 4 speed console. Everything works. Original unrestored seat belts.
Running Gear: The engine is a correct replacement 3955272 4 bolt main block with square port heads and correct exhaust manifolds. Intake is correct 3933163. Correct Holley carb 3959164 List 4346 date 891. The engine was built 11 to 1 compression as original with the rest of the engine using original specs with the exception of using hydraulic lifters rather than solids. The Muncie is an M20 4 speed and 12 bolt posi both fully restored.
Suspension: The original frame was in excellent condition to begin with. Restored to original specs front to back with full suspension replacement.
Bright work: Restored and replaced in excellent condition.
Glass: Windshield glass is replaced. Side glass is in excellent condition.
Exhaust: 2.5 inch with cross over. Flow Master mufflers with correct tips.
Brakes: Disc front, rum back as original and restored.
Wheels/Tires: Correct original style wheels with correct Firestone 14 inch tires.
Summary: Very nice driving and running car built to drive. Some originality was left which include some interior bright work that is presentable along with the shifter. Great color combo and built nicely with a lot of time and effort building and finishing the car.
