A little background about the Mustang:
I bought it when I was 17 years old from a gentlemen on a farm and have had it ever since. As far as I know I am the 2nd owner. Then, fter about two years of owning it, he 302 that I bought it with overheated and we realized the frame was rusted through. That is when we decided to completely redo the car.
We started with a rust freeuni-bodyand restored, r bought, ew everything needed. It took us about 10 years to do thecomplete restoration. The restoration was complete in 2010. I drove it for a couple of years with the 302 that i bought it with. It burned a lot of oil so I decided I wanted to get rid of the 302. That's when I asked my dad if I could have the 429 that was sitting in his garage.
The 429 was originally built for his 1983 F250 that he pulled a camper and a boat with. It has about 10,000 miles on it and according to the desktop Dyno, as 500+ horsepower and 625+ foot pounds of torque. The Heidts front end has about 1,000 miles on it and the rest of the car may have 5,000 on it.
After I received permission to have the 429, decided to upgrade the front suspension. We did a Heights cross member with coil over suspension, ubular a arms, nd power rack and Pinion steering. Then, s instructed, e cut out the stock shock towers and welded and flat panels to allow more room in the engine bay. The result is seen in the pictures shown.
All welding and paint were professionally done.
The 429 has a 750 Quick Fuel carb, okar cables and gas pedal, nd lots of chrome or aluminum parts to make it a great show car. The headers are ceramic coated. The car has zero leaks.
Due to our 3 young kids and the rare use it gets, have decided to see what I can get for it. I would like it to go to somebody who will use it more than me or who collects them. Nothing is wrong with the car, t runs like a top.
Thanks for looking and feel free to contact me with any questions.
