Displaying all its evolutionary DNA, t is clear what the Carrera GTS is. Based on the widebody seen in everything from the Turbo to the Carrera 4S to the GT3RS,it is all hips and chest, oo. With Turbo-style intakes on the front fascia and creative use of the black (negative) space, t is a muscular look that has somehow managed to improve through the years. High and low beam lamps peek out from the monocle lenses in the pontoon-style front fenders. Aero-cut rear view side mirrors blend into the windshield's A-pillar and point rearward to the fenders flared over the pair of meats tucked inside.

Based on the 3.8-liter boxer six-cylinder engine in the Carrera S, ut with massaged intake and exhaust functions, t gains an additional 23 ponies for a total of 408 horsepower. Max torque remains at 310 lb-ft, ut now comes on 200 revolutions sooner, t 4,200 rpm, hen compared with the Carrera S.
A flawless six-speed manual transmission is standard, ith Porsche's dual-clutch PDK unit as an available option. As part of the GTS, he manual tranny is also good for a two mile-per-hour boost to 190 mph over the Carrera S's 188 mph top speed.

For added excitement, e clicked the sport button at the lower bout of the center console for a total throttle remap and higher gear holding. Similar to an amp that goes to 11, t ups the fun quotient even more.
