Description

HI, p for sale is my cute as heck GEO Metro convertible. I just bought this car recently and was going to keep her but my daughter found a car she wants so my GEO is looking for a new home. Starting with the mechanics...When I bought the car it had been sitting a number of years so being a mechanic I went right to work. All she needed was to have the gas tank dropped, leaned and a new fuel pump installed and she started right up. This is my 3rd Metro convertible and the engine on this one is by far the best running I have ever had or heard. She really purrs and can idle for an hour and run cool. I changed the spark plug wires and did an oil change. The car sounds great. The transmission shifts good and the brakes, hile a bit noisey from surface rust, ork fine. The tires are excellent and matching all around. The floors and underside of the car are great. Nothing scary on this Metro. I was under her for quite a while replacing the gas tank and it looks really nice. The body is wonderful with the only spot of rust I can find a tiny bit of bubbling below the driver door on the rocker panel but its really nothing to worry about now. Paint is original and nice, ot perfect but tons of shine and I always thought the best colors on these cars were red and yellow. This car looks really good. Front bumper has a few spots that ought to be touched up but why not just enjoy her as is and make it a slow project... The convertible top is good and the rear window has some scratching but is overall in nice shape and looks fine. Inside the car the seats, hile a bit dirty are not torn and tattered. An afternoon with some upholstery cleaner would do wonders. Carpet is not the best and to make this car superb it should have a new carpet set eventually but can be used as is with no problem. The car has a drivers side airbag, ach, elay wiper and factory a/c which does not seem to be hooked up but with 55 horsepower and an automatic tranny i wouldnt press my luck by taxing the little motor to stay a few degrees cooler...put the top down and enjoy whatever the weather has in store. Owners manual in glovebox and the fuel guage is not working. I should have replaced the fuel tank sending unit when I had the tank down but I wanted to get her done, hought maybe it would work and didnt plan on selling her so its my fault but at about 50mpg you dont have to worry too much. I do not have the center piece of the convertible top boot. I only had the sides so I took them off. I see multiple people have the boots for sale on ebay for around 100 but i really never cared for the boot so I just left it off. Well I think that is about it. This is a really sweet little car looking for a new good home. If my daughter was not after another car i would not sell her but i have to keep the young one happy. Its not perfect but better than most and is the right color. Its been off the road for 5 years before I got her so take that into consideration if you want to buy her and get her home. Trailer her or try driving. I have only done a few miles and all seems good but there is no guarantee. I would not be scared to drive her away but ive been a mechanic 35 years. If you have any questions please ask. Car can stay on my farm for a while if time is needed to figure out shipping or pickup. I am 12 miles north of Baltimore Maryland...Thank you, hillip May 27...I wanted to answer a few questions i got in regards to the GEO...In the pictures the hood was not closed the entire way. The hood fits fine and closes fine, had a battery in the car that was too tall and I did not want to close the hood and cause damage. I replaced the battery with the correct size one and the hood fits great. The seats are fine but just need a good cleaning....a/c does not work and prob. wont anytime soon. hoses are off and i do not see the compressor. Thanks...Phillip
