Up for auction is a 1971 Chevrolet Pickup C-20 3/4 ton two wheel drive. To start off with i am listing this for my friend who owns it. I have personally known this truck since he bought it 3 years ago from the previous owner who was a mechanic here in town. The body and underside are very clean and not rotted out or patched like most of them you find. This is the reason you don't see undercoating on the bottom as he didn't want to hide nothing. I just drove the truck on a 60 mile round trip to take pictures at this abandoned gas station and there was no problems at all. the steering is tight and the brakes work fine as he just replaced them and all the hardware. The previous owner rebuilt the engine 350 and transmission turbo 350 both and has no more than 7500. miles on them since that was done. They work fine with no trouble. All of the steering parts are new as is the totally new exhaust system and radiator. The differential is a 411 ratio. Upon start up there is no smoke and while driving under hard acceleration there is no smoke so the engine is very sound. The rear pinion seal was leaking and has just been replaced. He drives it in the summer to work and has young kids who ride in it so he makes sure to fix any mechanical issue that comes up. When purchased the body had some dents which where repaired and it needed paint. The truck was repainted Hot Rod Satin Black using Dupont paint not the cheap stuff and has held up great for the last three years. I have over 900 Positive feed backs and i wouldn't risk a negative one by putting on something or writing a statement which is not true. Upon driving it there was no mechanical or driving issues. There is a slight wind leak on the driver side which could be repaired by replacing the door seal and the truck is a factory air conditioned model but the compressor and brackets are missing although the a/c box is on the firewall and the control panel levers inside the truck work free and are not broken as they sometime do. The truck is at the point where mechanically it is sound and body wise needs nothing. A good detailing job of cleaning up the rubbers around the windshield and doors painting and detailing the engine compartment would really make the truck stand out. The auction reserve starts at $7000.00 at $8000.00 if you bid that amount the reserve will be met and i will sell to the highest bidder. For the work done and money spent getting the truck to this point you cant go wrong. I seriously mean it when i say you could drive this truck anywhere. If you fly in we can pick you up at the Milwaukee or Rockford airport with this truck and you can drive it home. No trades please
