You are bidding on an extremely rare car manufactored by the Marmon Motor Car Company in 1932. There are only three other examples of this 8-125 convertable known to exist. Two here in the United States and one in New Zealand.
The Marmon Motor Car Company was founded in 1903 by Howard Marmon. Marmon was an inovator and pioneer in the early history of automotive engineering.
In 1911, Marmon automobile won the first "Indianapolis 500" race with an average speed of 70 mph!
The Marmon Motor Car Company produced high performance luxury automobiles in Indianapolis Indiana from 1903 until the Great Depression brought production to a halt in 1933.
This Marmon 8-125 is a product of that same spirit of high performance being equipped with the Marmon "Big Eight" engine producing 125 HP. This is attached to a three speed transmission with syncro on 2nd and 3rd gear.
The mechanicals are in excellent condition having just completed a full engine rebuild to include new pistons and rings (Egge), ew babbits for crankshaft and rods (Effingham Regrinders), adiator re-cored, ressure plate rebuilt with new clutch, ibration Damper (Damper Doc), alves ground with new guides. Heads and block decked and shaved. Crankshaft, lywheel, ods & pistons balanced.
Tires have good tread with minimal wear. All of the instruments are in working order. speedometer rebuilt (Bobs Speedometer Repair) Chrome is excellent. Leather seats and leather door cards.
Although the car looks good, t needs paint. Very straight body panels with minor surface rust in a few areas. Paint is pealing to reveal a green original color.
