1958 Impala
You are viewing a very nice and solid Impala. All original steel and never any rust. No hit body. The car was not restored off frame due to being such a good solid car. The car is primarily stock with a few upgrades. Runs and drives excellent and needs nothing. Owned since 95. 11K miles driven on the car since 95.
Please read on for more particulars of the car:
Body/Paint: The body is all original steel in excellent condition. The car was stripped down and painted in 2003 Artic white base/clear. No chips or dings and in excellent condition. Shows very well and looks like it is only a few years old. Always stored indoors. Fender skirts come with the car and are finished.
Interior: The interior is primarily original with seat covers replaced. The headliner is in excellent condition and looks like new. Power steering and brakes. Nice stereo system with amp, multi disc CD player and MP3 to use a stick to play digital music. Two battery set up so the stereo can be played when the car is not running. Charging system charges both batteries. Air bag controls in glove box. Siren mounted in engine compartment. After market oil and temp gauges. Original gauges work as well. The entire dash is unrestored and looks amazing for its age.
Running Gear: Originally a 283 powerglide the engine now is a rebuild 350 block destroked using a 307 crank, which makes it a 327 ci. 9.5 to 1 compression, mild cam. Produces 375 at the crank and 325 to the rear wheels. Plenty of power for this heavy car. The transmission is a 700R4 overdrive rebuilt. The rear end is stock with stock gears so with the overdrive transmission the rpm is very low at hiway speed and gets 20 mpg at 65 mph. 8K miles on rebuilt running gear. Electric pusher fan for slow cruising. The car runs cool with a flex fan.
Suspension: The underside is unrestored condition, but maintained. The suspension is primarily stock using spindles for disc brake set up. The suspension is very tight. The car rides and drives very nice. Bagged on all four corners. The pictures reflect the car in the lowest ride height. Rear is stock drum. Brakes are in excellent working order.
Bright work: The bright work is all original and in excellent condition. The bumpers were rechromed. No dings or dents. Super nice and original.
Glass: All glass is in excellent condition. Removed when the car was painted with new rubber seals.
Exhaust: Ceramic headers. Short glass packs with laker pipes as regular exhaust. Set up with exhaust flame thrower.
Wheels/Tires: Original hubcaps come with the car in really nice original condition. Tires are BFGs 205/70/14 all the way around with lots of rubber. Chromes steelies with moons in very nice condition.
Summary: If you are seeking a solid 58 to drive and enjoy that needs nothing this car is worthy of your consideration. Taking back to a stock look would be minor by replacing seat covers, installing the skirts and using steel wheels with white walls. The set up now reflects the American Graffiti look in 62. I have over 150 pictures of the car so please contact me and provide your email address if you would like additional pictures. Reasonable price. Great value and a quality car for the money.
