Description

2002 GTI VR6This was my son's first car - we bought it with around 120,000 miles on it and it now has 159,000. It has never broken down. We have done some repairs to the suspension, to correct the garbage the previous owner used on the front shocks. It is back to stock, aligned, and has no problems. Just replaced the front brake pads and rotors, literally 2 weeks ago. The paint is chipped in the front, faded on top, and has a little rust in the rear. The wheels are showing their age, but balanced fine with 1/2 tread on the tires. The leather interior is torn, but the heated seats work great. The sunroof/moonroof works fine with no leaks. The driver side door panel has been slowly breaking over time, but all the buttons still work so we never replaced it.The bottom line: this thing is super reliable and still has a lot of life left in it. It is still super fast and fun to drive. This VR6 is in awesome shape. My son has upgraded to a newer car, and that's the only reason we are getting rid of it. Please look closely at the pictures, and ask questions before bidding.CAR IS SOLD AS-IS - NO WARRANTY - NO RETURNS
OK - I have gotten a bunch of questions, so I added a bunch of pictures. I walked around the car and stuck my phone under it a bunch of times and posted the pictures that came out decent - please see the new pics - if more pics are needed, let me know.
The worst rust is what I showed on the hatch - the bottom of the car is really clean - see pics!
The transmission works great, shifts smoothly into and out of all gears and makes no abnormal noises.
We haven't had any major issues with the car. I replaced the oil filter housing and some other little things, but it has generally been a great car. We occasionally get a "check engine" light for an O2 sensor or something, but it never lasted longer than a day or two, and I can't even remember the last time it came in.
I believe in total disclosure and have done my best to show and describe all the known issues with this car. I am truly not hiding anything, but keep in mind that it's 15 years old...
