Fuzzy Dice Autos Has up for auction A gorgeous rare 1955 Nash Metropolitan true convertible in amazing condition! The metro was designed by Nash for the emerging postwar market. Nash Motors selected the Austin Motor Company and Fisher & Ludlow to build the car. This Metro was one of the ones built in England. This particular Metro is a Series II using the Austin 1200 CC engine. Then in 1956 Austin Motor Company obtained permission from American Motors to sell the Metropolitan overseas to America.Austin Metros were produced for a little over a year with approximately 9,400 sold in the UK and throughout Europe.Although the Pennsylvania and California titles indicate that the car is a 1956, it was actually built if 1955.Now more about this beauty:The body, frame and under carriage is completely rust free. No body filler anywhere. The car spent most of its life in sunny California. This is of course verified by an earlier California title that goes with the car. The original engine was removed and completely rebuilt from top to bottom. Only 30 miles were driven since the complete rebuild. The chrome, windows, convertible top, wheels and tires are excellent. The original period correct interior is in super condition. The convertible top and matching wheel cover are brand new. A brand new(not shown in the photos) matching tan boot still in the package goes with the car. Even the original AM "tube" radio works to perfection. The car runs, drives and stops just as she did in 1955.This is clearly one of the very most desirable Metropolitan Convertibles you will find anywhere. Please do not hesitate to ask us for any other information and/or photos of this really neat little rare car. Best of luck bidding!
