1986 Merkur XR4TI 3 Door Hatchback Sport Coupe

I am the second owner, boughtin 1999when it 32,000 miles on it, since I have put over 100,000 enjoyable miles (mostly highway) on it before retiring it in 2014 hoping to find the finances to have it restored to original condition. This is a dry no body rust Merkur xr4ti with only a few minor dings and some surface rust. Never been in a accident. The front end is tired and needs rebuilding and the original wheels need to be reconditioned and the front bottom seats and dash is badly cracked. It has rebuilt head and rebuilt transmission and new injectors and the motor runs great. I have all records and history. This is a solid project car for someone who recognizes the unique qualities of this 'rare' well designed coupe built by Ford in Germany with great tight desirable German engineered front-end that makes it a great handling car when renewed. It wouldn't take much to upgrade this car to a Cosworth. If more detailed photos are needed, please ask for them. I am letting my favorite caar go because I can't afford to upgrade it.
