I have owned this truck for about 8 years. It was originally from North Carolina. I found it In Hemming's Motor News being sold by Goldenrod Garage which has been in business since 1957. They are the oldest advertiser in Hemmings and sell good solid vehicles. I was looking for a nice fun vehicle for our summer home for just driving around. I was the 3rd owner of the truck . I did an Auto Check (Like Carfax) & the truck came through in flying colors. At that time the truck also was listed as having a new 350 crate motor. The mileage was not authenticated from Goldenrod Garage due to it's age but based on the vehicle I believe it has about 86,000 original miles. I installed ceramic headers, new dual exhaust, Edelbrock intake, & a Holley double pumper carb. All brakes were done, along with any necessary suspension parts. This truck is perfect mechanically and sounds great. Not too loud but it sounds real nice. Again all parts were NOS or the highest quality after market I.e. carb, intake, etc. It also has a new AC Delco air conditioning compressor. The truck is tight and has no leaks. The truck & engine bay are spotless. About 4 years ago I hit a deer while driving at 25 mph. I damaged the right quarter panel, front bumper, grill, headlights, & headlilight bezel. The insurance company paid about $500.00 due to the age of the vehicle. I had the wrong insurance company. I really like this truck & decided to restore it to like new condition. This was a solid rust free truck, that ran great and I got a lot of complements on it. The color scheme is stunning. I took it to an old body shop that was known for doing excellent work. The entire front clip, doors, all glass, hood, tailgate, & bed were removed. The cab & engine remained in place. The frame was cleaned & painted. The firewall was not painted. We matched the original color scheme & it was painted with Sikkens paint. Any and all parts (1/4 panel,, grill, headlight bezels, inner fender wells, front & rear bumpers, name plates, interior & exterior trim, dash pad, vent windows, window runs, weather stripping, etc.) were replaced with genuine GM NOS parts, not aftermarket. This truck was in the body shop for about a year. The bill for the paint and labor was $10,700.00. This did not include parts. We left the cab on because the truck was so clean it did not need to come off. I replaced both window regulators, window motors, door lock solenoids, door latches, window & door switches, door handles, vent window knobs, ac vents, light bulbs, light lenses, etc. It looks like a new truck. I have this truck listed elsewhere so I do reserve the right to end the auction early if I get the right offer. An immediate deposit of $1000.00 is required at auction end. Please feel free to look at the vehicle in person if you desire. I did before I bought it. The file is about 2" thick with all the supporting documentation. I am selling this truck because I have too many vehicles. I am located about 45 minutes west of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. I will help in any way that I can with transportation arrangements but it is your responsibility and expense to get it. You could drive this truck across the country without any issues. The truck has dual tanks, cargo light, am/fm cassette, tilt wheel, cruise control, clock that works, trip odometer, and it blows 40 degree cold air. Good luck bidding & if you get it you will not be disappointed. This vehicle is being sold as is.
