I purchased this beautiful truck last year new from the dealer here in Southern California. A lot of thinking was put into getting a truck with the right engine, body style, color, options... Several months deciding between this and other brands... I chose a Toyota, so it would last 20+ years and could give it to my son when he is old enough to drive. I picked a mid-sized Tacoma, rather than a huge Dodge/Ford/Nissan beast because I don't need a big truck to feel big/important...
Crew cab so the kids are not crunched up when we go camping. Short bed for better off-roading (long-bed with crew-cab looks strange and test drives like a big boat). 4x4 because this is the only reason to get a truck unless you are a gardener and just need a truck to haul mowers. This is the last of this desirable body style before they put a plastic Atkins motor in the 2016's and made it look like a transformer with different lines/edges so they could use thinner sheet metal. With the tailgate down you can fit a full sized motorcycle without any issues at all. The V6 engine is more than strong enough to haul a boats/jet skis/campers/other cars...
Equipment: Downhill assist, traction control, key-less entry, sliding rear window, power windows and door locks, cruise control, power steering, tilt and telescoping wheel, AM/FM stereo, MP3, Navigation, Bluetooth, USB, Back-up camera, dual airbags, daytime running lights, alloy wheels, bed 115v power inverter with plug,...
Reason selling: My boss is retiring in a few months and it's time for me to step-up and start things for myself... So I'm trying to eliminate as much debt/monthly payments as i can and even trying to get the PMI taken off the mortgage on our home.
Issues with the truck: Absolutely none. Hasn't seen the dirt or gone off-roading yet... The bed has seen 2 loads of dirt for a herb-garden the wife wanted, and a rear axle for a project car i'm working on. That's sadly about the extent of it's use since i have had it. :(
Financing: I financed it through Toyota. I still owe some money (under $30,000) so I do not have the title in my name. When you come to pay / take possession of the truck, we go to the bank together and fill out paperwork there so you are reassured 100% that the transaction is done right and the title goes directly to you. KBB states private party price is $33, 441 in "very good condition". And on the AutoTrader website they go for a little more and have more miles on them. Registration recently paid.
Deposit: $500 deposit within a day required. I will not wait for you to try to get financed and will submit small-claims paperwork if not paid to recoup my eBay fees. Please please please, don't waste my time and I won't waste yours. I only say this because I have heard many horror stories about kids bidding on things and it just being a pain in the butt for adults who have to relist and relist...
Warranty: Toyota powertrain warranty that came with it transfers to you.
Other: I am very motivated to sell this truck and will have it for sale on other sites (Craigslist, Autotrader, and others). If you are interested, come take a look/test drive. I will be taking it to Toyota this week for a (one-year) routine service per their recommendation and I will see if they can print out something saying everything checks out...
