Description

I purchased this vehicle on eBay a while backfrom someone in Ohio. Here's the sequence of events that followed:

  • Flew up to Ohio, drove the truck to Wisconsin where it broke down (was picking stuff up in Wisconsin, thendriving to Houston). Loaded the truck on a flatbed, pulled itto Houston, then diagnosed the problem. All sensors replaced (TPS, cam position, crank position, idle air solenoid, battery temperature, O2, and ignition coil) as well as the PCM (shop told me that was the issue). Ignition coil fixed the problem.
  • Then the AC pulley started having problems.I bypassed the pulley on the compressor, but haven't broken open the system.
  • Saw there was a leak from the front differential housing; took it apart and replaced the seals, the half shafts, and both CV shafts. Started to drive it again, when I noticed it would hesitate while driving and while idling. Replaced all sensors again, which lessened the problem.
  • After driving like this for a while, the exhaust y-pipe on the passenger side decided to break free from the exhaust manifold (the clamp holding the y-pipe to the manifold rusted away). Repaired the exhaust, then noticed something dripping from the front. Thought this was antifreeze since it was a greenish color, but when I backed the truck up, there were no brakes. Looked under the truck, there's a leak in the front somewhere and a leak above the rear differential housing.

I have since parked the truck and have not driven it since. There are other cosmetic things that I've replaced or have parts for. In the pictures of the drivers seat, it shows the side is ripped. I've had that repaired. In the back the floor board where the jack is stored is broken. I've got a replacement board to fix it. I've replaced the radio with a working radio from a similar truck.

I'm very frustrated with this truck and am now lettingit go since it was advertised to be a reliable vehicle that I could carry my two young childrenin. The inspection was due last month, which I'm not going to renew, and I've got a title loan on it from my bank. I've placed the reserve below what is owed, but I'm not going to take a huge loss on it.

Thanks for reading, and if you are interested in a fixer-upper, this would be a decent off-road vehicle once completed.
