This 1998 Corvette was just acquired from an elderly gentleman that bought the car new for his wife. Now some 18 years later he was no longer able to drive the car and enjoy it as it should be. With that said here is an opportunity to own a "LIKE NEW" 1998 Corvette. This Corvette has a very clean history and has never been in an accident. Clean Carfax History report showing the mileage on the car as actual and only a one owner. I have a used car dealers license in the state of Missouri specializing in nice low mileage examples such as this one and I do not have to title the vehicle. I simply reassign the title to the next owner. This Corvette is just like stepping back in time to 1998 and purchasing a new Corvette. That car has been stored inside and driven on occasion to keep the vehicle up. Non-Smoker car. The interior is very fresh and the leather on the seats show little to no wear. The carpet is nice and no flaws are showing on any part of the interior. There has also been no greasy products applied to the interior trim as this ruins the look and does not protect the material. The outside paint still looks nice as these cars do have the base coat clear coat finish. There are no nicks down the side of the car and no chips in the window glass. The paint is just like showroom when it was new. The wheels are the original ones and have no curb markings or any rash marks on them. The convertible softop is the factory black canvas one and has always been in the upright position when stored. The top is in excellent condition as well. The engine compartment is clean, the underside is clean, and really no signs of driven in bad weather. The Corvette is just an outstanding example of a near new 1998 Corvette. The car has plenty of miles left in it and could easily make a daily driver or a weekend cruiser. The car has recently been serviced and a new battery installed.
The Corvette does come with both sets of original keys and key fobs, original owners manual portfolio in the leather binder that does have the original flashlight and ink pen along with the small corvette note slips with the C5 Logo, Original VHS Corvette Demo Tape, Build Sheet to the car, Window Sticker to the vehicle, Carfax History Report, and a small dealer fold out sales brochure. We have added stainless steel exhaust tips and a painted corvette license plate frame. Both items can easily be removed if desired. The miles are right, the color is right, and the paperwork is right for this Corvette!

KEY HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE 1998 MODEL YEAR
Automotive media praised the Corvette, voting it North American Car Of The Year In January at the 1998 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Autoweek, January 12, 1998.
After a one-model-year absence, a convertible was again available in 1998. The 1998 convertible weighed 114 pounds less than the 1996's, yet was more than four times stiffer torsionally.
For the first time since 1962, a separate trunk with outside access returned in 1998. It was a standard feature of the convertible body style; coupes retained their hatchback design as before. The convertible's storage space was just slightly more than half that of coupes (13.9 cubic feet compared to 24.8), but it was larger than virtually all competing soft top two-seaters, and twice that of the previous Corvette generation's convertible. Even with the top folded down, storage space was 11.1 cubic feet, adequate for two golf bags. Also the return of the "waterfall" between the two seats similar to what the design was in the C1 1953-1962 Corvette's had. Coefficient of drag was .33 for convertibles with top up (.29 for coupes). Lowering the convertible's soft top required release of two front latches, then pushing a button for release of a hard tonneau. If side windows were up, pushing the button also lowered them. The tonneau pivoted up and back, and the top folded manually into its storage bay. Raising the top was a reversal of these steps. Articulated geometry of the bows eliminated rear latches. The rear window was glass and heated.
Noise reduction measures included a revised accessory drive tensioner, removal of the alternator rear brace to eliminate high-rpm whine, and clips to better hold window glass to seals during high-speed operation. A quieter electric fuel pump was used after the start of 1998 production.
The transmission cooler changed from copper-nickel to stainless steel.
The multi-piece cooling fan shroud was replaced by a one-piece unit.
A second-gear start select mode was added to automatic transmissions to limit wheel spin on slippery surfaces.
Steering caster angle was increased for improved tracking.
The C5 Corvette, when introduced, was a huge success in 1997. The 1998 had the same chassis and suspension and was a drastic change from the 1996 C4 model Corvettes. The rear transaxle combined a GM-built, electronically-controlled four-speed automatic transmission, or a Borg-Warner six-speed manual with Computer-Aided Gear Selection (CAGS) with a limited-slip axle built by Getrag. Locating the transmission in the rear maintained nearly equal front-to-rear weight distribution (51.4/48.6 with automatic), and improved interior space. Weight was reduced by about eighty pounds.
The new interior featured large analog speedometer and tachometer gauges flanked by secondary instruments with "black" lighting. The handbrake was relocated from the left of the driver to the center console. Stepover height was reduced by over three inches.
The LS1 was a completely new engine. It did have the same 4.4" bore spacing and similar displacement (346ci.) as the 350 ci engine family it replaced, but otherwise was new state-of-the-art in pushrod V8 design. Theblock was closed-deck aluminum alloy with cast-in cylinder liners. The block had a deep skirt that extended past the main cap bearings. Four-bolt mains were also cross-bolted to the block for rigidity. The shallow cast-aluminum oil pan had side reservoirs, and was a structural member of the engine. Output was 345hp at 5,600 rpm, torque 3501b-ft.at 4,400 rpm and redline at 6,000 rpm.Premium fuel was recommended and LS1's came filled with 5W30 Mobil1 SyntheticOil. An assembled LS1 was 44 pounds lighter than the 1996's LT4. LS1's composite intake manifold saved weight and improved air flow. Aluminum valve covers had separate ignition coils mounted close to each spark plug. Spark timingsignals were sent by crankshaft and camshaft sensors. Dual knock sensors were mounted under the intake manifold.
Engine heads were cast alloy with identical ports. The camshaft was hollow for reduced mass. The exhaust manifolds was two-layer stainless steel with air space insulator to more quickly warm the catalytic converter for reduced start-up emissions.
Wheel sizewas 17x8.5" front, 18x9.5" rear. Tire size was P245/45ZR17 front, P275/40ZR18 rear. Tires were extended mobility(run flat) with no provision for a spare. Suspension had short-long arm (SLA) design at each corner, also known as double wishbone or double A-arm. Springs were composite plastic front and rear, transversely mounted.
