This was my fathers pride and joy. He purchased it in 2013 and never got to use it because...well...life is short.
Its been hooked to a battery tender for 3 years. Starts right up without issue. Here and there I'll take it around the block to get it moving. I live in Manhattan and have no need for this to sit in my mothers garage reminding us/collecting dust.
Exterior paint if beautiful. My father got the black molding painted yellow to give it a newer look and we have the original radio. All the original stuff is in the car (amps). When I take it around the block the tranny shifts perfectly and the engine runs smooth. No check engine light.
The interior is very clean and the leather is in good shape. For being a 1990 I'm pretty impressed with the technology the car has (on board computer: fuel economy/range/outside temp), not to shabby.
This is a 26 year old car with 47500 miles. Its obviously been sitting most of its life. When I pop the hood everything looks good (belts/hoses-My garage is climate controlled) however, I'd guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to go through the car.
If you're interested in purchasing the car please come look at it, drive it, make sure you're happy (bring a mechanic).
The flaws on the car that I know of:
- Top needs a rear window
- Seat belt light stays on even when buckled
- Radio antenna needs to be hooked up to radio (has a bluetooth radio)
I'm being as honest and open as possible. You can ask questions but this is what I know. It was my dads, when he went, my interest went.
