Description

I recently purchased this car on Ebay and when Ireceivedit, it needed a bit more work than I hoped, and more importantly - didn't fit in my garage to do it (lesson learned!). My stupidity is your gain :-) The car has real potential and is the last of the big Pontiac convertibles. The pictures are from the prior owner, and show the car at it's finest. These cars are worth a nice amount of money when restored, or even in fair condition. The motor here looks like you can eat a meal off of it, and I'm told the 28k miles can beoriginal, but I certainly can't be sure. It has nicePontiacrallye wheels with center caps and the chrome is pretty good (save for a spot that has been touched up on the rear bumper). It has a period correct jvc cassetteplayer (with manual) with an amp and equalizer (the dash isn't cut up, so if you wanted to restore it back to theoriginalAM/FM, seems like you could), but I have not tried to get it working. Comes withoriginalmanuals. I was told that all the fluids should be changed and it's badly in need of a tune up since it sat for a while. it has theoriginalquadrajet carb. It has a nice new carpet and new floor mats I'm told. Also, the spare and jack set is in good shape. There is AC, but it's not hooked up - I assume it needs to be converted and gone through - but I cannot be sure. I'm told the exhaust has very little miles on it and was put in before the car was shelved. Other than the radio, the car seems to be unbelievablyoriginal so you won't have to undo someone else's mistakes when restoring. I'm told the paint is original save for possibly the rear wheel well covers.
It starts up very well and can be driven onto a trailer if you choose. Keep in mind the brake and gas leak, but I recently drove it a few miles without a problem. I'll be as helpful as I can with whichever shipper you choose. The car is currently in South Portland, Maine.
I'm striving to be as honest as I can about this car - I'd love to keep her and tinker away, but some things are a bit above of my expertise level and I don't have the space to freshen her up. I don't sell cars on Ebay for a living, and I'm just trying to recoup some funds and get her to someone who can work on her and get her ready for cruising. I'll toss in 6 quarts of oil and a new filter to the winning bidder to start you out with your project!
I require a non-refundable deposit of $500 via paypal within 24 hours of the close of bidding. I reserve the right to end the bidding as it's also for sale locally. Full payment is required within three business days. The car will come with a Bill of Sale since Maine does not title cars this age. So please check out the laws in your state for that. Upon full payment, I will send you the bill of sale and manuals and one set of keys via priority mail.
