Extremely well maintained 740il in Oxford Green Metallic and family owned since 2005 as my father bought the car from fleet sales with 80K miles. If you are going to buy a BMW then get one that someone has taken care of. I've owned a few of them and it's time to let this one go as I have too many other cars and I hate to sell it.
I bought the car from my father at 154K miles and first thing I did was to rebuild the entire front and rear suspension including struts and shocks. Fixed the instrument cluster from BMW as pixels were missing, did the same with the MID stereo. Replaced both oxygen sensors and gas tank vent valve to clear all the codes. Did a full tuneup with new spark plugs and had both of the valve covers powder coated and replaced the valve cover and profile cover gaskets. All the power steering lines and reservoir were replaced. Valley pan gasket was replaced as it was leaking coolant and did a full flush of the system and also replaced the electric fan. The inside of the motor is really clean as we used Mobil 1 synthetic it's entire life.
The car has 198K and it's V8 is still running very strong as I just had the entire driveshaft replaced and it shifts very smoothly again like new. Additionally also had the central computer replaced for issues with the door open sensors and the windshield washer not working. Also new rear brake rotors, pads and a new battery.
Interior is still in great shape and there are no rips or tears in the leather. The wood has a few hairline cracks from age but nothing unsightly. The CD changer and cassette deck work great too. The cupholders are both shot but that's pretty common in these as they are hundreds to replace and I never drink in my cars to avoid accidents.
On the outside I've updated the rear taillights to 1999 and also added M parallel wheels. Replaced the BMW roundel emblems and the car was buffed with compound a year ago. It's original paint with a few scratches here and there but looks great and I get many compliments of how nice of shape it's in. The windshield and glass headlight covers are new within the last couple of years too. Tires are going to need replacement soon and I also have the original basketweave wheels that go with the car. It has a full BMW car cover and a Yakima rack with straps that I spent a few hundred on to haul a surfboard.
I have full documentation of all the repairs, owners manual, two keys and a clean CA title. If there is something else I missed please ask and I'll get back to you or share my number via a private message. Don't let this one get away as this the E38 7 series is the most desirable and well built model ever as they were used in James Bond and the Transporter movies back in the day.
