Hey Folks,
Up for sale is a 1998 VW Jetta TDI, which has faithfully been my college car for the last 2 years.
It consistently gets more than 45mpg, which makes it ideal for commuting.
Got in a fender bender at ~10mph that caused the airbags to deploy, and I don't want to go through the hassle of replacing them.
The front bumper has a nice dent in it, so I took it off.
The radiator has a hole in it from the crash, so although the engine runs (really well) it isn't drivable.
I replaced the front brakes (pads and calipers) in early '16 and they work great (especially when you use them).
The engine's timing belt was replaced before I bought the car (about 4000 miles ago).
The engine has less than 175000 miles on it, and as any TDI enthusiast knows, with a replaced timing belt (which it has), you're looking at doubling that before you have to replace anything else.
This car is ideal for someone who's rebuilding a Mk3 Jetta and needs to put a nice engine in their car, or someone who has the time to put in new airbags (or someone who has the balls to drive it without them).
The bumper, its frame, the radiator, the right headlight (The left one is fine, i just removed it to remove the other parts) and a few other miscellaneous parts that it needs can be found at a junkyard for less than $300. (I checked).
I can't drive the car to you, but you can pick it up, or get it shipped to you.
The car is sold As Is, and if you want more pictures, a video of it running, or a video of my cat purring, feel free to contact me.
