1953 KAISER DRAGON
( Not a Clone)
Dragons were a special order Kaiser (only 1200 made). They were priced on par with Cadillac and Lincoln. The Dragon had gold plated emblems and trim. Owners received a special letter of acknowledgement from Henry J. Kaiser and a gold plated personalized engraved medallion bearing the owners name. (attached to glove box door) Dragons came with richly appointed interiors, arm rests front and rear, GM automatic transmissions, tinted glass all around, padded top and more.
I’ve owned the car 7 years and it is basically the same as when I purchased it. Had some chrome re-plated, new generator/voltage regulato, battery, and radio rebuilt. I drive the car on tours, and to shows and it received a second place trophy at the 2011 AACA Western Division National Meet.
Engine and transmission function fine and new brakes were done when I purchased it. I’ve driven car approximately 600 miles. Does not smoke, burn oil or drip fluids. Chrome and stainless very nice with a few pieces showing some light pitting. Tires good but getting old. Very beautiful interior with like new steering wheel. All gauges work as well as heater and wipers. Trunk is fully lined as new.
Like the “tires” I’m getting old too. So downsizing my collection. Selling my 53 Dragon, 50 Chrysler and 51 Packard 300. Lots of Kaiser stuff goes with car.
Car needs new air intake duck (vent) from intake box to firewall. 7 or 9 inch. Looks like clothes dryer vent material. Speedometer making a little noise now and then (needs lubing) and front shocks weak and clock not working. Car is located 45 miles north of San Francisco, California. It is being sold as is with no warranty implied or given. A $500 non-refundable deposit (pay-pal preferred) within 48 hours and balance due within 10 days of purchase. Vehicle will not be released until all funds clear. I have a clear California Title and car is presently insured and registered in Calif. I will provide buyer with all documents including prior owners information and sales material. Reserve set under Old Cars Report Price Guide. I reserve the right to end auction upon reasonable offers. I can be reached at 707 888-9757
