1968 Numbers Matching L-71 Coupe, (See Photos of Stampings) Original 427ci-435hp, At 19K in 1973,the engine was blueprinted and built to L-88 specifications and has been lightly driven around 16805 miles since then. At nearly 500hp, the engine, the 4-Speed M21 close ratio manual transmission and the heavy duty 3.55:1 Positration rear end are in great condition. The Tri-Power was replaced with a more efficient 1 and 2 four barrel configuration, hence no tri-power 3deuce intake or carbsgo with this car. However, for restoration original part and date code correct intake and carbs are available. This Vette is tagged, insured and driven very lightly.

The original purchaser factory ordered an L88optioned with ONLY a radio. No other options were ordered on the car, GM called the dealer and stated "you could not order an L88 with a Radio" and so a change order was made and this L71 was born. Like the L88 it was build with pure power. Later it the engine was blueprinted and built to surpass L88 specifications.

Personallyhave been with this car since 1973 andhappy to answer any questions. This car was custom built (as shown)for show in 73, where she took numerous first places and first in shows. The enginewas built to L88 specs. She could be restored back original or turned into a resto-mod, either way the car will always be a true born, low mileage L71 and with its 50 year birthday just around the corner,,,there are simply not to many L71's still out there in Vetteland,,,especially a lower mileage car.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT: Tank stickers and build sheets.
Thesesheets will tell you what a specific VIN identified Corvette was optioned with when it was born. Some, but very few real deal Tank Stickers and Build Sheets have survived on early year Corvettes and the ones that are presented with a Corvette for sale, are usually illegible or heavily damaged or worse case, they have been counterfeited and being passed off as legitimate.
Since this Corvette was not optioned with anything but a radio and the Serial Numbers on the Engine Pad match the chassis VIN and the other numbers, not having a Tank Sticker or Build Sheet really doesn't matter a lot. This L71Corvette can be easily authenticated, as the GM shipping record (see photo) and VIN match the other stampings and the dates of manufacture.
Either way I have priced this car a well below book.
Please ask any questions and I will promptly respond.
