Description

This is a pretty fun truck. I've owned this for a couple of years now and have really enjoyed it. This is a K10 not a C10 but it didn't give me the option for K10. This is also a rare truck in a few ways, first off it's a special order COPO truck. This included the special paint and decals and usually had the 400 (which this does). Another reason this truck is rare is that it is wearing it's original paint and graphics, it's a numbers matching truck meaning the original motor is still in the truck, and it appears to be a very low mileage original truck at 90k. It's hard to prove that so I won't say it's 100% but a lot of things point to this as being a low mileage rig. Some other neat features is that the truck has both sets of the original keys, original documentation from the date of purchase, and the original SPID or identification tag is still with the truck I actually had a new replica made to replace the old one when I replaced the glove box insert but I also kept the original. There are some rust areas but it's very minor. There jones rust area coming through on the passenger side, the floor pans have been replaced and the rockers are extremely solid. The front fenders both have rust in them but still look great. The hood is a typical 73-80 Chevy hood and it has bowed in the middle due to bad hinges and a poor design. I've freshened up the interior with new carpet, redyed the door panels and dash, and added a new old stock cassette player that still has an aux plugin so I can play music off of my phone. I also replaced the gauge bezel with a newer model bezel that wasn't broken, I would have replace with one of the same but couldn't find one, most people wouldn't know the difference. Both tanks work although the drivers side has a leaky rubber hose that needs swapped, not a big deal. All gauges work, all lights in the dash work, and both the dome lamps and cargo lamp work great. All exterior lighting is great, I replaced most bulbs and lenses to freshen things up a bit. The original suspension was tired so I installed 2" tuff country springs (the best riding springs you can get for these old trucks) and new shocks all the way around and a 2" block in the rear. Tires are almost new, I had the original rally wheels blasted and repainted, new beauty rings installed, and I polished up the caps and put new decals on. I've replaced all front end components from ball joints to wheel bearings to drag link ends. Now last but not least I rebuilt all off the doors from the hinges to the weatherstripping INCLUDING the vent windows! It's a bit of a pain to do but well worth it. I still would like to put on some new latches for the vent Windows since they're a bit cloudy and have some slack in them but doing all the work to the doors makes all the difference in making these a joy to drive. You don't have the terrible wind noise, the doors shut great, and the Windows roll up beautifully and without much effort. All in all this is an extremely solid driver that would make a great restoration candidate and is a great collectors truck being a COPO optioned truck makes it kinda neat and different. The originality is awesome and I love it how it is, But as for me I'd probably just leave it how it is, I think it's perfect. I drive it quite a bit in the nice weather and get a lot of compliments. If you have any questions done hesitate to send a message. I just want this to got to a good home where it'll be taken care of. I've set the reserve at a very reasonable price. I also wouldn't be scared to drive this anywhere. These old square body trucks are hot right now and the prices are going up each year, they're also getting harder to come by in this condition and unmolested.
