This is a 1978 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 "Big 10". The truck is original and has been in California since new. This is a 99% rust free vehicle with the exception of a small area on the passenger side fender (see pics) and a small blister on the hood.The truck does run and drive as of right now, however it has a rod knock and will need a rebuilt a replaced engine before it can be reliable and fully functional. We obviously cannot predict how much longer it will run with these known issues. The truck does go into forward and reverse but we were not able to drive it over 10 mph so could not test the full potential of the transmission shifting into higher gears. The brakes stop the truck and the suspension felt ok, but again we only drive it a couple hundred feet and cannot provide any further information in regard to the mechanical condition. The odometer reading is 45,719, due to the age of the vehicle and the 5 digit odometer we cannot confirm the total original miles. We did not test the a/c however it has the sticker that says it has been retrofitted and all the a/ccomponents seem to be present and in tact.

The paint finish appears to be all original and has a lovely original patina. The body is excellent without any major dents other than the rear bumper pushing into the body (see pics) causing some minor damage. The undercarriage is 100% solid and rust free. The structural integrity of the truck is a+++.

The interior is also all original and shows some wear and tear (see pics)but overall very nice for it's age. The wheels are in good condition and the tires are old and have small dry cracks.

This Chevy truck is complete (trim, moldings, emblems, etc.)and is definitely worthrestoring, or just drop a usedengine in and drive and enjoy as-is.

This California truck should serve the new owner well if he or she is willing to give it the time and attention is deserves. Thistruck has quite a bit of money due to theCalifornia DMV and since the engine is bad it will be unable to pass California emissions/smog so therefore it will only be available to out of state or country buyers only. All other bids will be cancelled.
