1999 Mercedes-benz SLK230. It is a blast to drive and it still looks great. It runs like a top and shifts great. The clutch feels strong and the engine has plenty of power.
The headliner was replaced before I bought it, as well as the after-market HID headlights that work wonders at night and CD player. The radio/CD sounds great with no static even on the hard to get stations I listen to.
I own a German auto repair shop so I do all the work myself. I have replaced the engine and transmission mounts and the stop light switch. I also replaced a power steering line that was leaking and the seal for the oil level sensor as well as the engine oil and filter with synthetic oil. The A/C was a little low so I recharged that and the system blows nice and cold. I could find no leaks in the A/C at this time. It has held for a over three months. I also just replace the air mass meter.
It has a new valve cover gasket and I re-painted the valve cover with a darker color because it had bubbles in the paint, as they all do. It looks better than it did before, enoughsaid. The spark plugs and air filter were also replaced at that time. The ignition wires looked pretty recent so I left them alone.
The convertible top works perfectly, I drive it a couple times a week and have the top up and down at least twice a day when I do. It always runs smooth and quiet.
The front bumper cover was replaced with a aftermarket "AMG"ish part by the previous owner as well. The body has some dings here and there but overall the paint is very good. There is a very slight color difference on the front bumper that looks worse in the pictures than in person.
The wheels are in good shape with thesmallestscuff on the left rear. The Front tires look recent and the rear tires are good for summer driving. However, they should probably be replaced in the next few thousand miles. The brakes are in good shape, about 50%, so no worries there.
I like to sell cars that people can get in and drive worry-free for at least a couple months.
I welcome any questions you might have, and I will answer as fast as humanly possible.
Inspection are not just welcomed they are encouraged!
Thanks for looking and have a Great Day!
