1932 Ford Roadster Project Original Chassis Brookville Body w/Title
Great start on a traditional 32 roadster. New Brookville body on an original 32 frame with a nice mix of early Ford, older reproduction and new parts.
Frame is an original 32 from an old California hot rod. The sides had been pulled in between the k-member and rear cross member probably to fit a Model A body. It was brought back to stock dimensions in the frame jig at Barillaro Speed Emporium by making relief cuts in the top and bottom edges of the rails then pulling them back to their original position. The cuts were then tig welded. The k-member and rear cross member have never been out of the frame. The center of the rear cross member was replaced with the center of a 40 cross member to work with a later straight spring. The front cross member was replaced with a nice original that has stock style rivets plus tig welded for strength.
The front suspension is a 1932 heavy axle with a 5” drop by Okie Joe. It has fitted round back spindles with the steering arms bent to clear the un-split 32 wishbone.
The rear end came out of a restored 1941 Ford with good brakes and includes torque tube, drive shaft, spring and radius rods. Wheels are 16” 40 Ford w/ new Firestone 4.50 and 7.50 tires.
Body is new from Brookville and comes with lower windshield stanchions, cowl vent and stock style door hinges. Firewall and hood tops are original 32 Ford. Grill shell is Brookville and insert and gas tank are new from Vintique. The headlight bar was made from an original 32 B Model bar. The headlights may be original 32 converted to sealed beam. They came with the greyhound and spreader bars from a 32 restored in the 70’s.
Comes with current and correct Tennessee title for 1932 Ford Roadster in my name matching #’s on the frame.
