1965 CHEVELLE SS Malibu
Purchased in SoCal, 1992.
Complete tear down and dis-assembly
Frame striped, checked, straightened and painted.
Body disassembled, glass removed, soda blasted. Trunk pan and rear panel below glass replaced. All other sheet metal original: fenders, doors, roof, hood, trunk lid, rear quarters.
Yellow etching primer applied prior to reassembly with new body mounts.
Recent RR code paint to original color, base/clear. New front window; all others original glass. New bumpers, grille, trim, stainless, emblems.
Chassis assembled using tubular control suspension, front and rear. New springs, sway bars and shocks New axles, bearings and rebuilt rear end with posi unit added. 3.08 original gears.
New front (D52) power disc brakes. Drilled and slotted rotors. Complete new rear drum brakes. Complete new brake lines installed, metal lines and hoses. Original fuel lines remain.
15 x 6 rally wheels (YS code) with new Goodyear 215-70/15 tires. New center caps and rings.
Purchased new interior kit (red). Seat covers installed.
Door panels, carpet and headliner still to be installed.
Basic wiring in place to be able to run and drive. Lights work.
New 350 motor installed, Less than 1000 miles. Weiand hi-riseintake, Holley 650 carb, solid lifter LT-! cam, Hooker headers. Rebuilt turbo 350 trans.
Original 283 motor with powerglide trans if interested. All old trim and other parts also. Lots of receipts and photos as well.
All electrical and gages need to be completed but car does run and drive withworking lights.
Decided to try selling once more before I move forward with new M & H wiring project. Seems to be a great way to go and a bit less work on my part.
