As a theft-deterrent, Allanté has GM's Pass Key utilizing a resistor pellet within the ignition key that has the ability to render the fuel system and starter inoperative if an incorrect ignition key is used. It has a speed-sensitive damper system called SD²C. This system firms up the suspension at 25mph and again at 60mph . The firmest setting was also used when starting from a standstill until 5mph. It has a variable-assist steering system. This car was always garaged, very well cared for Allante. 12 CD player installed in trunk.
