** MECHANIC SPECIAL **
I have had this truck for over 2 years and it has been a great farm truck. When I bought the truck in 2014, the previous owner indicated that 2 of the fuel injectors were "bad" and needed to be changed. I have not done this and the truck has worked fine, including the 4 wheel drive. I use Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner several times per year which has worked wonders for the clogged injectors.
About 3 months ago, the truck started having a rough idle but did not display any codes or check engine lights. In July, I went to start the truck and it was a no start, no crank situation. When I use a screwdriver at the starter relay, the truck will crank but will not start (engine turns freely). Tested two of spark plugs and neither are showing any spark yet the ignition coil is receiving power. The ignition coil checks out fine. After reading several articles online, I began replacing parts in the hopes of fixing the problem. I am now at a loss on what the issue is and am looking to sell the truck OR pay someone that knows F150's in this series that can get the truck running again.
Here is what has been replaced on the truck:
- New spark plugs and wires
- New cam position sensor
- New starter relay/solenoid
- New cam synchronizer and sensor
- New ignition switch in steering column
- Tested with a new neutral safety switch but put the old one back one since this did not fix the starting issue with the truck
Other items to note:
- Battery should be replaced and does not hold a strong charge
- I have 4 tires that will be included with the sale with the truck. Two of the current tires have minimal tread left.- Some rust present under the driver side door
- Truck is AS-IS and will need to be picked up and hauled from Anderson, IN (zip 46013)
