This truck was purchased new off the lot in 1972 by my great grandfather. He drove it for many years, and then died in the mid 80's. My great grandmother drove it a little until she developed dementia, and then it sat unused. My father bought it from my great grandmother in the mid 1990's. He used it for hunting, hauling trash, etc. but it wasn't driven a whole lot. I bought it from him around 2000, and have had it since. I used it for hauling hay, the occasional trip to Home Depot, etc. The mileage on the truck is actual. It really only has just shy of 96,000 miles. I blew the engine in the truck after trying to run really old gas in the second tank around 2004. I replaced the engine with a newly rebuilt 400. The truck had 89,000 on it then, so the rebuilt 400 has less than 7,000 miles on it. I haven't driven it much over the years. It was just in the shop and had its belts changed, an oil change, and a new starter put in it. The tires on it have less than a thousand miles on them. The battery is a cheap one from Walmart, but it is brand new. The engine runs strong and sounds really great. It drives and handles well. Everything works, including the blinkers and headlights. It really needs new windshield wipers, but the windshield wiper motor works. It has dents and scrapes, as you can see in the picture, but it has no cancer. It has lived its entire life in the high desert of southern Oregon, and it is a very dry climate. There is surface rust, but nothing that goes beyond the surface. The 4WD works. The am stereo in it is original, but I am not sure if it is working or not. I haven't checked it out in a while. It is missing its knobs, and just sitting in its hole. The temperature gauge on the dash does not work, but there is a replacement mounted to keep an eye on the temp. The heater works, but the blower doesn't. That might be something to fix before winter, because it takes it a very long time to warm up in the cab without the blower working. Even the cigarette lighter works. The second gas tank probably works just fine, but it had 20+ year old gas in it when it was drained. If you plan to use it again, it should be replaced. The glass is completely fine, with no cracks anywhere. The windows roll up and down. The door panel on the driver's side is off, but the truck comes with it. It has new arm rests for the doors that I never installed. The hubcaps for the front tires are included. It has a spare tire mounted that will be included in the sale. The driver's side door handle broke off some years ago, and I never got around to replacing it, but it is easy to open with the button anyhow. Overall, I can't think of any reason that this truck wouldn't get on the road and drive a long distance. It does need new tags, as the ones on it expired in 2012. If you have any questions or want to see more pictures, just shoot me an email. I even have a video of the truck starting up and running. I would like the purchaser to arrange to pick up the truck within a week of purchasing it. Please pay for the truck with either a cashier's check or cash. I have title in hand. Thanks for reading! On Aug-29-16 at 17:05:21 PDT, seller added the following information:
A few people have asked about the length of time I would be willing to hold the truck after the auction ends before it is picked up. I am good with holding the truck for up to a month to allow the new owner to make arrangements to pick it up. I would like to be paid, in full, within a week of the end of the auction, however. Thanks!
