Description

Classic 1987 Turbo Toyota Supra. 30 Year Anniversary coming up soon, and the new Supra to debut next year!

Less than 5000 miles on brand new engine!! Professionally installed. I have most receipts.

Stock 230HP and 246 lb ft, but this might have a few percent more because I installed an electric radiator fan, which also improves fuel efficiency as well.

Rare and Classic Car - 2+2 seating
7M-GTE Turbo Straight Six Engine

Nadaguides shows a high value of $12,600, an average of $8,650 and low value of $5,325; value will only go up for this car from here on out.

I have over 100 photo's on Photobucket, just email me and I can send you the link.

Possibly one of the first 1987 Turbo Supra models sold in California. The bill of sale shows July 1986, and according to the original owners, it was on the first shipment to the State.

When I purchased the car, it had been sitting for a while due to a blown head gasket, but it still ran. Unfortunately after getting it to my mechanic and he started to pull the engine apart, we found that there was a crack in the head and the cylinder walls were very corroded. At that point I decided to just put a whole new engine in car. See pictures. I also had new brakes, pads and rotors all around and a few other things as well. I have about $8000 in work just under the hood and about $10,000 into it all together.

This car is very rare to find in this good of condition. It is all original with exception of an aftermarket electric radiator fan that I had installed to both boost horsepower and improve fuel efficiency. Stock wheels, radio, etc. The body is in good condition for its age, there is paint fade (unfortunately it wasn't garaged) and a handful of nicks, dings and scratches throughout (as to be expected with a car that is 30 years old), but there is no major body damage anywhere. The interior needs the most attention. The seats definitely need to be reupholstered, leather is in bad shape all around. I got a quote from two different shops, one quoted me $2500 and the other $3600 to replace all of the leather all of the leather throughout. High end kits can be purchased for a custom fit, 100% high quality leather for about $1200-$1500. The carpet is actually pretty good for its age, with a spot treatment and shampoo it would look very good. There is wear and tear on the buttons in the dash, which if you really want you can have the buttons refurbished to look new, or upgrade to a new stereo although I like the original retro look.

Overall the car is very solid and sound mechanically. Basically everything that needed to be done mechanically has been done, with the exception of the suspension, which could use new shocks/struts but its still rides well as is, and the only reason I haven't bothered is because who ever buys it may want to swap that out with a nicer coil system anyway. This car has the potential to be a show quality car with just cosmetic work at this point.

Almost all original! Original razor blade style wheels, stock radio, etc. etc. I even have the owners manual, owners guide, sales brochure (which is particularly rare, even more than the car), and the original window sticker. Basically the only thing that is not still with the car is the tool kit and jack. The only thing that has been modified is the radiator fan, which as I mentioned, I upgraded to an electric model to improve fuel efficiency and increase power.

I've really enjoyed having and driving this car, it's very quick and very fun to drive. Unfortunately I'm going to be selling my home and moving into an apartment and I have four vehicles and a motorcycle, so something has to go. I have well over $10,000 into the car and I have most of the receipts for the parts and labor. All work was done at the Toy Tech in Placerville, CA, and it was voted the best small business in the county and was also voted in the top three mechanic shops in the entire Sacramento area. The odomoter showed 174,000 miles when I put the new engine in and I'm just a little under 180,000 now, but I do drive it once or twice a week, so it will probably have a little more than that by the time it sells.

This car is very fun to drive, very fast and handles very well; does 0-60 in 6.4 seconds. This is a rare find, and a special car, it has a cool story and the fact that it is all stock, still has the original owners guide, owners manual, sales pamphlet, and window sticker. Theres over 100 pictures on photobucket so be sure to let me know if you want to see those so I can send you the link.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions about the car.

Issues:
Passenger side window button doesn't work. Does roll down but has to be done from the driver side.
Dome lights don't work
One of the two driver side tail lights is out
Motor on the power antenna is starting to slow down, could probably be replaced

Still Needs:
New Paint Job
Reupholster the interior
Redo the suspension, shocks/struts or upgrade to coils
Could probably also have the CV Joints redone

Thanks!
