1974 Thing :)
Plenty more pictures here:THING I'll try to take some video and add to this link this week also.
It is an absolute blast to drive this around town, to the beach, cookouts, camping, or hell even to work! I have always treated this thing as a true driver. Used as it was designed through and through. Its not a concourse example nor should it be, its a driver as you'll see in the pictures. It's always kept excellent air-cooled company among my own cars as well as friends I've made through its ownership. Starts right up, rain or shine hot or cold. Equipped with original Porsche Cookie Cutter rims, and good rubber for modern road use.Shifts perfectly, and stays put in gear. Can put along comfortably alongside traffic on the interstate (I like to keep her at 60-65 or cruise the main roads personally, though she has no issues getting up to 80). Like any aircooled 1600, it needs its maintenance kept up, tune ups, fluids checked, valves set etc, but you can do absolutely anything yourself on these cars with some interest, and 80% DIY for the complete novice. I'll be including the paperwork, manuals, and the undoubtedly all important "how to keep a Volkswagen alive for the complete idiot" book if you don't already have one! Lights all work, stereo with some boxed speakers in the back, has received inspection current in Mass, and gets more attention than a $50K Porsche.. Back seats fold to create an industrial storage tray behind the front seats for moving whatever you want. I have picked up anything from 20 bags of mulch, to craigslist furniture with this old thing. All doors in great shape come on and off with ease and line up and close exactly as they should. Included is the deluxe pop in side curtain windows in matching white. Top not perfect but functions to serve its purpose, looks great up or down. I drive her in the late fall, and occasionally in the winter with the top up and curtains in. There really isn't anything like these old Things. Anyway, please feel free to ask me any questions. Please be certain of your interest and intent to follow through before you bid. The car is being sold as it where is shipping on the buyer, however I can help coordinate as best I can to accommodate if necessary. Clear MA title in my name ready to go. Payment due in 3 days, cash, check once cleared, or likely easiest bank wire direct. Check my feedback and reach out to me with nany concerns. Not often you see these and they can only become more valuable as the days go by. I'm going to miss this old girl but with a recent move I only have enough space in the new garage for so much, and my old Porsche takes the lead. Thanks for the interest and good luck
