1953 Chevy Chevrolet COE Cabover Snubnose
Here we have one cool old cabover, selling at no reserve. First of all, I've had a few of these old Chevy Coe's and this is definitely one of the straightest and mostoriginal one's I have seen. It is a 1953 farm truck, so obviously it isn't perfect, but pretty darn nice. Here are the details.
I'll list the negatives first. The truck developed an exhaust leak 4 or 5 years ago, so the owner pulled it into the barn to repair it. He removed exhaust/intake/carb etc. - He got busy covered the engine to reinstall later, and it never happened. He passed away, the farm clean up started, and those parts got pitched away or lost. The good news is, he covered the engine and it was inside. It is free and turns by hand. The other issue this has, like most Chevy's of this vintage, are the cab corners, It appears they were crudely repaired years ago, and then the truck was painted by brush. I know this odd paint/patina probably makes this look somewhat beat up or rough, other than the cab corners this truck is VERY solid. I try to get good pictures from all angles so you can get a good idea what it is. All the glass is in this, so it has kept the elements out, which also helped a lot. Gauges are in good shape, windows roll up and down, doors open and shut. All the shift linkage is there. Overall, this is just a good ol' straight (for a farm truck) honest clean truck. As I said, the paintbrush job isn't hiding anything, no bondo other than cab corners. Even the seat is still decent. I'm hoping someone will restore this to original, as I love these old farm trucks, but I know these are pretty popular for other uses such as hot rod haulers - etc., so - I will remove the bed, cut the frame, or help in any way toload this - free of charge. I'm also easy to work with on storage as long as truck is paid for in a timely manner. The truck is located in Great Bend, KS.. It has a clear title from Nebraska where it came from. I rescue these old trucks from all over Kansas and occasionally make it into one of the neighboring states. Please note that I have 100% feedback, so bid with confidence, I also want to keep it that way, so please ask any questions you may have prior to bidding. My name is Cort and my number is 620-786-5172
