1976 Ford Elite. In prior years Ford called it a Gran Torino Elite, but for 1976, it was just an Elite. This is an extraordinary example with only 40k actual miles. This car is all original except tires and battery. This is no barn find, it needs no reconditioning. It is ready to go anywhere. This model came standard with a 351ci or you could upgrade to a 2 barrel 400ci or the giant 4 barrel 460ci. This one has the 460. Also has the optional Sport Dash and polished aluminum dish wheels. Has an optional 8 track that works well and working cruise control. Everything works as it should except the A/C, it blows cool but not cold, still has R14 in it so it needs to be converted. The original paint looks very good but getting thin in just a few spot. The body is overall good except for an unfortunate spot on the passenger side (see photo). All the glass is very good. All the rubber is good. All the chrome and stainless is good except for one spot on the front bumper (see photo). It appears the bolt holding the bumper on was too long and caused an extruded dent. I've seen 2 other Elites with this same issue and it makes me think it was a factory flaw. There is some very minor pitting in the tail light bezels but all the lenses are nice and clear. The interior is immaculate; no cracks, no tears, really amazing. Mechanically the only problem is a transmission fluid leak. Tires are like new. This car spent most of its life in dry New Mexico so it is rust free and it has always been stored inside so it is not faded or dried out. This is a very special car so bid to win.
