1965 Factory Five MKII COBRA

This COBRA has always been Garage Kept except when driven to car shows and Local trips in this area. It has often been selected as the Car of the Show at many Car Shows both Maryland and Virginia. Last year during the Maryland National Night Out Car Show, it was selected by the Maryland Lieutenant Governor as the Car of the Show.

It is presently Registered and Titled in Maryland as a 1965 Shelby Cobra with 68450 miles on the Mustang Odometer. It only has 3200 actual miles on build.

Professionally built, 1965 Factory Five MKII 427 Shelby Cobra replica.

This car was built by a professional kit builder in Pennsylvania in the year 2000 using a 1995 Mustang Donor car. This COBRA has a 1995 Mustang COBRA HO fuel injected 5.0 liter 302ci V8, Roller Rockers,Cobra intake, custom cold/ram air system, headers, ceramic coated side pipes, ceramic coated roll bar, 4 point Simpson race harness' and stainless steel fire extinguisher. The COBRA previously Offered on EBAY but was removed when a problem was discovered. The COBRA was getting a last Minute check out before the end of the Ebay auction. I discovered that the Engine had Erratic misfiring. Repair was JR Performance Shop in Maryland. The problem found Was the Spark Plug rubber caps on the spark plugs had melted by the header heat and the Wires failed. Issue was resolved by installing High Quality Ceramic Spark Plug wires and replaced the MSD Distributor modules.

Installed Factory Five Options ($ 5,100 Dollars in Installed Options)

Factory Five Deluxe soft top. This TOP is manufactured by one of the best hot rod soft top guys anywhere (Rod Tops by DTS Enterprises). The design incorporates all stainless steel fasteners, collapsible tubular construction with double lined canvas, zipper-in side windows and custom bag that fits in the trunk. The top design only requires two holes in the body, one behind each door for the main hoop. No lift-a-dots are used for this top. It can be Installed and/or Removed without leaving any unwanted mounting hardware. Also, included with the car is a Snap on Tonneau Cover can be installed when Convertible top is Removed. All Build Documentation and TOP Installation procedures are included. The TOP In the carrying case and documentation is Shown in one of the pictures.

Factory Five Competition Air Dam. This air dam was added to this COBRA to help smooth air flow under the chassis. Also help with Cooling during road trips. It is a big help in reducing drag, not to mention that it looks great on the car!

Factory Five Big & Tall Black Leather Roadster Seats – Big & Tall Guy Version seats installed. The Factory Five Leather roadster seats are based on the original design and manufactured by skilled craftsmen in the UK. These new seats are made with a very rigid tubular steel frame (as opposed to the previous molded fiberglass seat inner) utilizing cushion and cover materials meant to withstand any type of weather thrown at them. Included is the Driver side Seat Slider, for adjusting the seat distance from the pedals.

Factory Five External Body Options

Factory Five Roadster Polished Stainless Bumper Kit -- These hoops are specifically designed to fit Factory Five Roadsters. New sleeves and hardware was provided to locate the hoops clear of the body. These look awesome on any COBRA car.

Factory Five Door Latches for Mk 1, 2, 3, or 4 Roadsters -- NEW door latches that are fully chrome plated and included the striker mount plate for earlier Roadster applications.

Trunk and Hood Lift Supports Struts Shocks Dampers installed. Two supporting the Trunk Lid and Two supporting the Hood.

Chrome Side Exhaust Covers. Helps not to BURN your leg when getting out of the car. I have lots of SCARS from burning a leg on these exhaust when not covered.

Internal and external Issues.

Gas Gauge needs Replacing. The Builder of this COBRA used the Mustang Gauge console and gauges. This was the initial Factory Five Build Instructions to use this Gauge Cluster and gauges. I have not been able to get another Mustang Gauge Fuel Gauge. However, they should be available at any local car salvage yard.

Dash Panel Cover indicates minor flaws from Mounting a GoPro Camera and other installed driving GPS devices when they were removed.This leather dash cover can easily be replaced and the flaws will be covered up.
