Description

1965 VW BEETLE FOR SALE
This is a great opportunity to purchase and enjoy one of the cleanest examples you’re likely to come across in this price range.
Here’s a rundown and some information on the vehicle offered for sale:
Exterior: Bahama Blue (L519) matched to the original paint dash and door jams.
The body has had a complete bare metal repaint, inside and out blended into the original paint on the jams and dash.
The body was a very nice rust and damage free example before its paint and body restoration (no front or rear clips replaced).
As you can see, at the time of paint, all the seals throughout the car were replaced.
All the felt channels, window scrapers, vent wing assembly, door seals, everything you can imagine or could be replace was replaced.
Headlights were completely disassembled, repainted and refitted with new parts and seals.
The genuine pop outs were restored and refitted.
All the brightwork has been restored or replaced with the best quality on the market at time of restoration.
Interior: Complete new interior, all the best quality from Wolfsburg West, including seat covers in Mesh Grey vinyl, German Squareweave carpet kit Salt and Pepper Loop, rubber mats, original style perforated headliner vinyl, door cards and armrests, etc, etc…
The seat frames were also fully restored, front and rear before trimmed.
This was all carried out and installed professionally by a VW specialist here in Orange, CA.
Floor pan/inner fenders/valance:
Front and rear valance and inner fenders show no sign of damage or previous repairs.
Very original and un-repaired floor pan, with no rust and still VW original undercoating as do inner fenders.
Prior to its restoration the car was very original.
Wheels and tires: Original steel wheels in factory colors, new triple plate hub caps with brand new tires.
Running Gear: It’s all original and correct and has been perfectly maintained over the years.
German parts have been always been used when possible.
New master cylinder/wheel cylinders/metal and flex lines at time of restoration which was recently completed.
Engine: Rebuilt 1300cc single port engine that retains all its original German tinware.
All the original engine details were replaced at the time of restoration that’s correct for this 65 VW Beetle.
However, it does benefit from a Bosh alternator conversion and 12 volt electrics.
It really is the best of both worlds, original and authentic looking with the reliability of today’s electrics.
This car is in very good condition. California car with clear CA title and current registration, ready to be enjoyed.
All the work has been carried out professionally by VW specialists so nobody has been working on the car that really doesn’t know how or what a VW really needs.
It was converted to 12 volt and rebuilt with 46K miles on the car which, I’d be more than happy to say it's correct as the car feels tight and drives like a low mileage car. Unfortunately, I have no way to back that up as I have no history on the car in writing only what I was told by the previous keeper but having own over 25 VWs over the past 24 years, this certainly drives and feels like a low mileage car and I’ve had more than one but sorry no guarantees.
As I’ve said the car was restored/rebuilt and retained as much of the original parts as possible i.e. the German stuff is the best stuff…
Everything works as you would expect on a car of this condition including the horn, radio, lights, and windshield wipers, the dome light, the washer jets, etc…
It’s ready for export also. I will personally help with delivery and shipping arrangements to your door if required. Please see the link to my website:

This car found its way to me from a very good friend who previously owned a restoration shop.
He put this car together for his daughter's first classic.
After restoring it and getting it ready over a couple of years (father and daughter project) and having over $20K invested, his daughter decided she preferred a Kaman Ghia, that's how I became the owner of this beetle.
I’m at the point now where I’m ready to sell three of my VWs this being one of them.
This little VW is an absolute pleasure to drive, everything works as it did in 65, you can cruise along at freeway speeds and take your hands off the steering wheel, it doesn’t veneer off in any direction, you can brake hard and it pulls up true and straight, there’s no wheel wobbles, no grinding noises, no squeaks or bangs…
It absolutely drives as you would expect it did in 65.
As I say, up and down the gear box perfectly. The motor hums along and has the perfect air cool exhaust note through the stock exhaust.
The car just gives you great feedback and puts a big smile on your face.
The one new modern upgrade in the car is the 12volt electrical system which allows you to have the new stereo system, which, to be honest, I’ve never turned on but you as the new owner may enjoy…
I am asking for $14,500.
Thanks
Chris
