Description

This is a clean car with absolutely no rust. There was some paint peel and that problem has been paint prepped. The hood has been undergone a vinyl job with 4D Carbon Fiber vinyl and a functional hood scoop to protect the surface. Paint blending will cost $300.00 to $500.00 and is not included in this auction. The car has a brand new reverse terminal batter purchased from Parts City. It has a brand new positive terminal in-line battery fuse purchased from Auto Value. The tires are as close to new as one is going to expect from a used vehicle meaning that they have less than 200 miles on the road from the time they were mounted. The stereo shown is not included. It has been replaced with a new Sony CD and MP3 stereo with 5 band equalizer. The car has been coded by INNOVA OBD-2 Scanner and INNOVA Online Database. The problem appears to be with the Throttle Position Sensor and/or the PCM (Power Control Module). Report indicates that the total cost of repair is under $400.00. The vehicle starts and runs. It sets in all gears and moves forward in drive, overdrive, first, second, and reverse. The problem with the Throttle Position Sensor is noticeable though as it needs to be adjusted to the right current. It is a brand new Throttle Position Sensor. It just needs to be adjusted to the correct Amps by a mechanic with a multi-meter and experience. If there is any problem with the PCM after that the Throttle Position Sensor has been fixed than it is a problem that would require proprietor flashing, which means that it needs to undergo troubleshooting by a Nissan Certified Mechanic. The PCM (Power Control Module) is also known as the ECM (Electronic Control Module) or ECU (Electronic Control Unit). These modules/units are the brain boxes of the vehicles. They cost $580.00 plus core trade in and need to be flashed by a Nissan Proprietor. There are mail in opportunities on eBay. You uninstall it, ship it in via USPS with Tracking, they flash it, and then ship it back to you for under $300.00. Their work is guaranteed and the PCM if purchased new comes with a warranty. The INNOVA Report also discloses anemissions problem. That is because there are three catalytic converters on this vehicle. There is the pre-cat, which needs to be uninstalled and cleaned. Then it needs to be reinstalled after cleaning. There is the oxygen sensor catalytic converter also. That could use an inspection. There is also the under floor catalytic converter that anchors the cat back exhaust system. I cut the under floor catalytic converter off because it was terribly dirty. Than I cleaned the car and detailed the engine. It could use an oil change soon. It would benefit from a transmission flush, but it is not necessary. The transmission fluid is clean, but the filter could be dirty as well as the gasket. I put two liters of Lupke's in it and it goes into drive, overdrive, first, second and reverse just fine. There is a switch somewhere around the floor pedals that needs to be adjusted because it was tapped and the brake lights want to stay on until I pull the fuse. I pull the fuse and the brake lights turn off, but it locks the transmission by default, because it is a safety precaussion. Put the fuse back in the brake lights go back on and the car goes in gear and move. If the switch needs to be replaced than it is $40.00 for parts and $40.00 for labor. That is all there really is to disclose about this vehicle other than a cheater pipe replacement. The cheater pipe is filling in the gap for the missing under floor catalytic converter which costs under $300.00 on eBay.
