1955 Chevy
This car is a great candidate for a 2 door conversion, and I have the parts available !!!!!!!!!!!
It’s a driver and mechanically is in great shape, fires right up and has plenty of power and a nice rumbly exhaust.
it spent its life in the California sunshine until 1997 when it was sold and transported to Wisconsin where it has been since.
Being the car was from California there are only very minor rust issues.
The front clip is 100% rust free the eyebrows are perfect as well and the fenders bottoms, zero rust!!! One of the best front clips you will find,
The doors are rock solid and not rusted out the roof is in good shape as well
All the interior garnish moldings are there the exterior stainless moldings are mostly there but they all need to be buffed out for a show quality finish
All the glass is good although the windshield is showing its age and milky on the edges.
The front and rear seats are included (the back seat was removed to get a better picture of the rear floor) the front seat is in very nice shape the back seat is just a core, new door panels in the trunk and included.
It has the very desirable seamless California bumpers, they look great for a rat rod but clearly they need to be re-chromed for a show car
Both the rockers have very minor rust at the bottom, all the floor braces are good front pans had patch work done and are nice and solid the back floor pans are in great shape
The trunk pan /drivers quarter/rear door, has an amateur quality body repai, its solid and rust free just not top notch work. **the photo of the door shows were filler was used to repair the damage ** This is the only area of any significant body work or filler on the whole car. The frame is nice clean ans straight.
My plan was to replace the tail pan brace, body mounts and rework the quarter when I did the 2 door conversion. I purchased 2 door post parts car to do the conversion I have, doors, quarters, window regulators, moldings and a 2 door front seat. The parts aren’t included in this auction, if the winner is interested they are available
The engine and trans were professionally build using quality parts and have about 1,500 miles on them
The engine is a rebuild 350 the heads were ported and polished, it has flat top pistons, a comp cam, hooker headers and flow tech purple hornies glass packs
The trans is an th350 is rebuilt with a shift kit and redline clutches and a 1,900 stall converter. Trans cooler needs to get hooked up as I didn't want to use the original one
The following parts are all new carb, accel distributor, mini starter, water pump, alternator, fuel tank and float, fuel lines, fuel pump and filter, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings, brake hoses and shoes.
The rear-end had the bearings replaced and the fluid changed and is a 3:36 ratio.
The wiring harness is new as well and needs the install completed
The car will be sold with the original wheels not the ones pictured
She isn’t perfect but a great starting point or continue the restoration.
Mechanically the car is in great shape and a great runner, the body overall is very nice solid but has amateur quality repair on the quarter area. You can tie up a few loose ends and drive this car as is or do a complete restoration or convert it into a 2 door car. The options are yours,
