Description

I’ve got a fun one here waiting for a new home! It’s a 2005 Chevrolet C4500 with the Kodiak Pickup truck conversion by Monroe. This isn’t a pieced together C4500 with a regular dually pickup bed, this is an actual factory Monroe conversion with the bed that matches the lines of the cab! This thing is an absolute BRUTE. It’s a 1 ¼ ton pickup truck that has as much room as a van and will flat pull just about anything you put behind it. She’s only got 72k miles and has hundreds of thousands left in it. It’s got the famous LLY Duramax diesel in it that starts right up, doesn’t leak, doesn’t smoke, doesn’t have blow by, and doesn’t set any check engine lights. Behind the motor is the Allison 1000 transmission that is second to none. It shifts great, doesn’t slip, and pulls just the way it should. I’m not sure which gears are in the rear end, but it seems like they’re for the highway. It turns about 2100RPM at 70MPH and will peg the speedometer with ease if you choose to do so. It drives great, surprisingly enough. No shakes, no pulls, no wandering – it drives just like a pickup truck. It’s got air ride under it with air ride seats, so they really soak up the majority of the bumps.

The interior of this thing is set up just right. It’s got conversion Leather seats with an electric fold rear seat, painted trim, and plenty of buttons. No stains in the carpet or headliner, no rips in the seats, just some normal creasing in the leather and a hint of wear on the outside panel of the driver seat (see pics). Nothing that you wouldn’t expect from any 70k mile vehicle. The interior trim pieces have either been painted silver with tiny brush strokes in them or have been water dipped - either way they look great! The truck has a built in air compressor, automatic fuel transfer pump, an extra 90 gal tank in the bed, and all of the amenities of a normal pickup truck like power windows, locks, tilt wheel, cruise, etc… Every button that I’ve pushed works, the air is cold, the heat is hot, and all of the power options work great. There are no warning lights on the dash, the cruise works great… you get the picture. It’s all there.

The body of this thing looks great. The panels are all straight, no obvious dents, dings, or paintwork. It’s about as straight as a Kodiak comes. There are a few spots that the paint had chipped that have been touched up – the touch up paint was very hard to match being silver. Please take a look at the pictures to see what I’m talking about. There’s also a hairline crack in the fiberglass bedside that I snapped a picture of as well. Also the Alcoa wheels have some scratches and pits in them but clean up very well (see pics for details). Nobody would go out of their way to notice these things, but I don’t like surprises and don’t want you to have any either! The headlights are bright aftermarket units as well, they have a blue hue to them. The truck has a spray in bedliner in back as well. Both bumpers are in great shape, the paint is shiny, and overall it looks like a much newer truck than it is.

There’s a gooseneck ball in the bed and a Reese receiver under the rear bumper. I just hooked a trailer to it, with a Yukon on it, and headed south to KY. I ran 75-80MPH and got 12mpg loaded. On the way back I ran the same speeds and averaged just shy of 14, but still pulling the trailer. This thing is all there, everything works, it drives well, it looks great, and it turns every head on the road. There’s not many like this. This was well over $100k when it was new, knocking on the door of $150k…this is a fraction of the price and you’re not going to find a better one with these miles for this money. This is a hell of a truck and someone is going to be very happy with it.

I don’t think you can find a nicer 2005 around for this kind of money. I’ve had a blast driving it and I’m sure the next owner will too. Don’t miss out, this one is the right truck. Please check my feedback, I’m a no BS kind of guy and it shows. If you have a question, please ASK. I try to describe every one of my vechiles in great detail and provide as many pictures as I can to show it how it actually is. Nobody likes a surprise…including me! My phone number is 317-260-9235. Please don’t call and ask what it takes to buy it – you have my buy it now price. If you’d like to talk about the truck’s condition or have a question about my ad, feel free!

I will gladly pick up from Indianapolis International Airport and you can drive it home, or you can arrange shipping and I’ll make sure it gets off in one piece. Your choice. You’re more than welcome, also, to come take a peek at it and inspect before the auction is over. If you need more specific pictures of anything, please feel free to let me know any time! A $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction close and the balance to be paid in 7 days or on pickup – whichever comes first. Thank you!
