Description

There are way too many upgrades to list them all, I will hit the major ones. It has a v-8 and overdrive. This thing can run down the highway or in the hills.
When I bought this Jeep it had a 4 cylinder with a cracked block. The previous owner moved from California and did not realize antifreeze was needed in vehicles here. Needless to say, the first winter the Jeep was in Montana, the block cracked. I bought the Jeep from him and did a majority of the transformation myself.
  • Chevrolet 350 Engine-less than 5000 miles on rebuild
  • headers and HEI ignition system.
  • MSD electronic Atomic fuel injection system. The screen got close to the headers. It is melted on one corner but still functions. This upgrade alone was $2000.
  • 700r4 overdrive transmission with less 5000 miles on rebuild. You can run this down the road at 80 mph with no bump steer.
  • Dana 300 transfer case. It has a twin stick transfer case shifter.
  • Brand new front and rear drive lines-rear drive shaft has a cv joint to reduce harmonics and vibration
  • 4.88:1 gears front and rear. Dana 44 axles. The front axle is from a mid 70's 3/4 ton chevy that was narrowed to the same width as the rear end. The rear end is a Dana 44 with brand new bearings, seals and posi unit.
  • Rear axle wrap bar. With the v-8 and 488 gears the springs would wrap and snap drive lines. I installed the axle wrap bar which minimizes torquing of the rear end-putting power to the ground.
  • Spring over conversion with stock springs.
  • Shackle reversal on the front end to minimize bump steer.
  • Brand new carpet.
  • Brand new after market gauges. I has an air/fuel ratio gauge but is not hooked up since I put the fuel injection on it.
  • 35" BFG tires. 5 tires with 80% tread.
  • New stereo and front speakers. It does have a factory sound bar on the roll cage too.
  • Custom front and rear bumpers with a spare tire carrier.

It is a great Jeep that is a ton of fun. We have way too many cars and this does not get driven enough to justify its spot in the driveway-so it is time to let it go. I realize have have twice as much as the starting price into this Jeep-but I did not build it as a investment. It was my wife's daily driver (hence the reason for the fuel injection). I just restored a 1971 Suburban, that she drives daily in the winter now.
