1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider 1600 Normale.
Regarding the car's history: according to Alfa Romeo's archives, AR 378074 was manufactured on 10/08/1963 and sold to Alfa Romeo, Inc,. Newark NJ on 11/25/19963. As originally built, the car was graphite grey with a red interior. The engine, which is assumed to be the original, is number AR0011213372.
The car was purchased in 1991 from a private owner and driven for only about a week before being parked and garaged in preparation for restoration. In the subsequent process of dismantling, time became an issue and the project was left as is. The car spent the next 20 years in storage until recently when, however, it was moved outside.
As for the car's condition, everything was working when parked. The car is probably 95% complete. The only major items missing are the original seats and the hubcaps. While the odometer reads 45,643, this mileage cannot be verified. Some of the trim and bright-work are in need of repair / restoration, but the pieces are all there. And like almost all older Alfas from this time, there are some rust issues. The doors, hood, trunk, and outer body panels are all in good shape with little if any rust problems. Likewise, the engine bay, firewall, and trunk bulkhead are for the most part solid. As seen from the pictures, the major rust problems are with the floorboards, the rear portion of the trunk floor, and the lower parts of the rear wheel wells. At some point, the car was painted red but the original graphite grey is still underneath. The car is sold on bill of sale only. As for terms of sale, a deposit via Pay Pal is required within 48 hours and full payment -- under terms -- are required within ten days. Will assist in arranging in shipping.
Before bidding, please feel free to contact with any and all questions about the car.
