So the time has come to sell my beloved 2000 Chevrolet Suburban. I bought her from my best friends elderly parents in late 2006 when the new body style Suburban came out. They always buy the newest style suburban when the body styles changes. It was always dealer serviced by them and was in excellent condition. It was my daily driver for 6 years and then became an extra vehicle for towing the jetski to the lake or taking a group of friends out on the town. It was the safest vehicle produced in the year 2000 according to the national crash test ratings. Over the past 10 years this car has only left me stranded one time and that was when the transmission went out a little over two years ago. I had it rebuilt at Aamoco and paid to have any available upgrade installed if it was available. It has only had mobile 1 full synthetic oil its entire life. When the change oil light comes on it is changed within 48 hours. I have replaced the water pump, serpentine belt, all 4 shocks, brake pads and fluid all within the past 2 years. It does currently have an illuminated check engine light from a bad knock sensor. This is a common problem from this generation, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Sierra, or Silverado. Water gets under the intake manifold when you drive it in the rain and over time (16 years) it makes the knock sensor fail. I have the new knock sensors, knock sensor harnesses, and intake manifold gasket that I am including with the sale of this Suburban. I was going to replace them myself as it is only about a 3-4 hour job (lots of youtube videos) but my wife is transferring to the Puerto Rico Air National Guard and we can only take one car with us. You can reset the check engine light and it usually takes a couple days to come back on. Couple of the doors could use some lubrication as they make a slight squeak when you open them. This is one of two cars we are having to sell before we leave the 1st of October. I was not planning on having to get ride of this Suburban. I maintain it as if it was going to be a forever truck. It is literally the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. The truck runs perfectly as I just drove it 300 mile round trip to Atlanta and back over the past weekend. This is a great highway car! The air conditioning is ice cold, the stereo sounds great, and it drives like you are riding your sofa down the road. The front seats could stand to be recovered and you can get the new leather covers on ebay for around $300 a seat. Then middle captains chairs and the third row bench are in great condition. The front air conditioning fan only blows on high but that is a simple $35 fan speed resistor that takes 10 min to change out in the passenger foot well. It has 2013 Suburban LTZ factory 20 inch wheels on it and the tires are in fair condition. I included a picture of the worst tire which is front passenger and the other 3 are all about the same as the other picture I posted. NADA Clean Retail is $5,000 and I love this Suburban so much to me it is worth that. But I am a realist and it needs to go so I am selling it no reserve to the highest bidder. I am out of town this weekend but I can give test drives of the car in Montgomery, AL next Monday and Tuesday before the auction ends. I can also help with driving delivery ($0.27 a mile) Call me if you have any other questions. 334-247-9425
